I’m going to drive myself crazy trying to place that last photo. Please put me out of my misery.

Sorry, I am losing my mind -- that is actually on the front of the Préfecture de Police on Ile de la Cité.

Ah, that makes sense. I thought I’d seen it before, and was guessing it was in that vicinity. Thanks.

It's not every day you see a lady wearing a stone fortress on her head.

This one is prettier, but compares well with the Statue of Liberty.

Paris is obviously first-rate for these wonderful ornaments. I'd struggle to find a single one in my entire county here, they'd gone out of style before anything had been built that might have them.

Christchurch Priory in Dorset , UK is undergoing renovations. Last week I took the opportunity to see this tribute to key workers during Covid; a new gargoyle that will tell a little of the story for the next 500 years or so. live.staticflickr.com/65535/51081296142_8ee8ddd4d7_b.jpg

Brilliant addition to that building. Kudos to whomever thought it up and to the person who executed it.

Thanks both - I may have just enough to create a postcard about the area around Christchurch harbour .

The lions are extremely realistic in their two different moods. The snarling lion has it's ears back as it shows it's teeth. The calmer lion licking its paws has it's eyes partially closed and ears up normally. Both front legs are true to the muscles on a lion. The other items seemed to be corn and a sunflower?
