Gorgeous here..the dog took me for a drag around the park this morning in the sunshine, then OH and I went to a nice pub for fish and chips and cold lager. Time for a snooze in the garden methinks.....lovely warm spring afternoon.

Mick...I am jealous! We are starting the season of kicking leather balls around muddy grounds and commentators tying their tongues in knots on TV, radio and print. Queensland and NSW play Rugby League, Chaps who attended private schools play Rugby Union, Guys with long impronunciable surnames play soccer...though this is now more mainstream, and the whole country plays Australian Rules. Women like A R ...the players wear small, tight fitting shorts and top and are in prime condition. It is a hard, fast game played over a ground twice as big as soccer pitches. It is very physical. A woman from US watched a match, marvelling at the lack of protection as used by gridiron. She said she would never look at Aussies in the same way again.

Not great in Paris but basically "back to normal" which is never wonderful in April. May is supposed to be the good month.

We are supposed to have the warmest temperatures in France today: 26°C. It was 10 this morning and the sky has some white streaks so I hope we will get some rain this week as forecast. The ground is cracked on paths in the countryside because the soil contains a lot of clay and forms a hard crust when we get no rain for weeks.

Cool and cloudy with winds so far today. It is 12C. The wind broke up the last of the ice on the lake this morning and then the waves took the remaining bits under.

some wind. Some rain. Cold (4c ?) dark. Cloudy. Typical belgian miserable weather.
Paroliers : Jacques Brel

De si belles paroles!
We had Belgian weather yesterday. Gray and a cold wind and it didn't get over 11°C. It is supposed to warm up a bit on the weekend.

Fairly nondescript with occasional surprises. A bit like a Berliner from Aldi. Average sort of dough but then sometimes really good quality jam inside.

It's a perfect sunny day here. To good to spend indoors so I think I might find a chair on the patio. The air is cool and I doubt it will get unbearably hot.

The sky has hazed over and a strong wind is blowing from the southeast. It is about 17° on my thermometer but the 50 kph gusts of wind bring down the temperature. Storms and rain forecast for this afternoon and evening.

Spring in Montana. Monday was gorgeous, Tuesday was rainy and last night it snowed 6 inches. Heavy wet snow. All the newly leafed out trees are losing branches or falling over. I woke to a boom! this morning - a 60-foot tall Ponderosa pine had broken off about 12 feet off the ground, and crashed to the ground. All the native shrubs are bent to the ground, and the taller ones have lost many branches. What a mess. We'll be hauling and burning for weeks...
