Excellent link huckle....the forecast doesn't fill me with joy but it's good to know that the temperature may crawl up to to 22C by the weekend.

28° and hazy here so it's rather muggy and unpleasant. It was nearly 30° two hours ago.

My thermometer is showing 33° outdoors in the shade in this part of Paris at the moment. I'm considering taking a bike to the Bassin de la Villette later this evening, but that will depend on dinner and the wine that goes with it.

I am back in Florence and it was hotter than fuck yesterday here, but it will be yet hotter again today: 41C!
Luckily, I shall be returning to Bellingham this morning where there isn't a day in the ten day forecast over 21C. Best summers in the world.

We were supposed to be a bit cooler than central France but this evening at 8 it is 34°. We had some clouds this morning so it wasn't so bad, but then when the sky cleared just before noon the temperature started to go up quickly. It is supposed to be worse tomorrow.

Reading lots in the Uk about the early Summer heat wave in Europe and the emergency plans being put in place in many countries to help people cope with it.... plus lots of reminders about the significant death toll in some countries during the last significant heat wave in 2003 www.theguardian.com/weather/2019/jun/26/europe-heatwave-cities-prepare-to-limit-effects-of-record-temperatures So it seems very poor taste to mention that finally we in UK will have some warmer weather over the next few days not just because of the potential catastrophic impact for some in other countries as well as the Uk but mostly because of the reality of climate change.

we in UK will have some warmer weather over the next few days not just because of the potential catastrophic impact for some in other countries as well as the Uk but mostly because of the reality of climate change. I don't know the cropping cycles in Europe, but this heat wave will damage crops and herds at all stages of of their growth. Fruit and vegetables get burnt in one day so heat damaged produce will cause farmers much loss of income. Livestock will be lost to heat stress...over 65,000 cattle died or had to be shot in our heat/drought 2 years ago. The law here is animals may not be transported while the temperature is over 37 degrees C and they have to be hosed down at set intervals. How are the water supplies in the various countries? Open storage dams will have high evaporation rates and the higher demand from domestic and industrial use may present problems. As the heat dries out the vegetation the chance of wildfires increases. Heat waves are killers, they are not 'a few hot days'. Don't try do your usual daily activities. Slow down, Drink more water, Stay where it is coolest, Check on your neighbors.

Actually, Questa, there was damage to crops a week ago because of hailstorms in the southeast of France! Many fruit trees like apricots and peaches were damaged. So it's not just the heat -- it's the extremes of weather that are so damaging.
Right now it's cloudy here, so low 20s but we are supposed to get to 37° this afternoon. A drop of 10° tomorrow if the forecast is correct.

berlin has cooled down a bit, though - only mid-twenties for the next two days, before it goes up to lower and then mid-thirties again on the weekend. on the balcony after midnight last night, it actually felt nice ...

Today was supposed to be the hottest day in Paris, but we only got up to a pitiful 32°. But now they are promising us 36° for Saturday.

Today here was lovely , sunny , breezy and about 22/24 - really just perfect. Tomorrow is hotter though . My godmother and some of her family live in south west France ( not that far from bjd) and her daughter in law just posted a pic of the thermometer in their garden reaching showing about 42 late this afternoon.

We're supposed to be at around 27C in Leicester...but in our garden it's 32+ and very, very hot and humid (and for much of it in full sun). We've been skulking in the house with all the windows open and the curtains shut. Three fans aimed at a panting dog too....I took Django out at 1030 before it got too hot.

As forecast, today was unbearably hot, even though I know that 35° is acceptable in many parts of the world. Not Paris. I felt sorry for the hundreds of thousands of people who marched strolled through the city today for the Gay Pride parade. What a boon though for all of the cafés along the route!

I remember a couple of June heatwaves when I was in Paris and the worst, for me anyway, was trying to get a decent nights sleep when you’re sweating bullets and the air is stifling and still. Was miserable. Best wishes to all who are suffering through this current European heat wave.

Here it reached 30 today and that made me realise just how awful it must be in other parts of Europe. I am not moaning; but at the same time glad its back to 22 or so tomorrow according to the forecast.

Today's 29° is a breath of fresh air after the 36° we had yesterday. Unfortunately, the east (and Germany) still have to suffer. 38° in Strasbourg today.
