I just realized that the daily highs and lows in Montana and Florida are the same numbers, just with an F after the Montana numbers and a C after the Florida ones!

It was unseasonably warm for a few days here in the southewestern corner of France. Lots of rain during the night and right now it seems to be clearing up although showers are still in the forecast. It's about 12° I think.

It's not doing it for me you know. These posts about the weather in Europe and I'll be there in less than two weeks. Not filling me with enthusiasm. It was 27 degrees and patchy cloud at 8am this morning when I took Mrs M to work.

0.5° on my thermometer this morning at 6:30. And it's a bit foggy outside. Cheer up, Mark -- it is supposed to warm up and rain at the weekend. Of course, we are a long way south and west of Frankfurt.

Cold and foggy here too - it barely lifted but when it did for about an hour I hopped on Mac and we enjoyed the only glorious sunny bit of the day.

I was quite late at a meeting on Tuesday after driving in the fog for more than one hour in France. Of course I made it ring like i had to cope with a lot of fuck on the highway. Added : so I got some laughs and we moved on. Not so easy to type in my iPhone.

Not too sure what you mean there, Whatagain, but I think you should check your mobile phone's spelling app.
Meanwhile, it is getting nicer and nicer here. The sun is shining and the temperature has gone up to 11° at 12:30.

YaY the Maple Leaf! I heard on the news that some of the fires had merged into a gigantic super fire. Meanwhile, I am on the Luxembourg border, the area in France which currently has the worst weather in the country. Fog and rain. Who knows? Maybe some snow tomorrow?

Belgians only go to Luxembourg to retrieve money hidden in their banks. At least used to.

That is correct, K2 They are calling it a mega fire. Three massive fires have joined together creating a monster. There is a video getting around of the explosion with the guys on the trucks fighting it and video-ing at the same time. Sure to win some awards...I'll try to find it. www.abc.net.au/news/2019-12-06/nsw-bushfires-mega-fire-north-of-sydney/11772568My son is back home...has to compete in a Tarmac Rally over 4 days then back to fire ground.

The video that has the trees exploding was taken by crew of Orangeville Fire service. I can find it on ABC but can't post it.

Hope everything goes well for your boy Questa. The footage we've seen of the fires in Australia are terrifying and our hearts go out to you all. My niece and her hubby have just bought some land and are having a house built on it...think it's around Melbourne or something, they don't have fires there atm...but it's something everybody needs to take into account I expect. He was a volunteer fireman until he started training to be a paramedic a few years ago, my ex brother in law is a volunteer fireman too..think he lives in Brisbane.
Weather here is cold and wet. The ground is saturated as we've had so much rain, walking the dog is a nightmare...seems like we just get dry when it's time to take him out again! The dog has a permanent mohecan where the fur on his head has dried standing up. Must take a pic....

That fire looks terrifying. How on earth do you deal with something like that?
Dry here for now but grey. Not cold.

At 10:30 am it is 9°C outside but it doesn't feel cold because there is no wind. It does seem to be clouding over though. Mid-teens forecast for the week and some rain.

Harder rain and high winds, the kind that make it rain on several sides of the house at the same time. But it's 13° outside.

If I were in Yellowknife it would be -34 with wind chill taking it to -46. So it's lucky you are in England! I have never understood why anybody would willingly go and live in a place like Yellowknife. For the few months of the year you're not freezing, you're bitten alive by blackflies and mosquitoes. The sun is shining here, the sky is blue, no wind blowing and at 11:30am it's 9°.

Their weather would be challenging! We always comment though that Whitehorse frequently has better winter weather than where I live. It seemed to rain here all day yesterday, I was afraid that everything would be frozen solid this morning but the rain must have stopped after dark last evening. The deck and stairs were frosted but otherwise dry.
