We had a positively hot day today. This is a strange occurrance for October. Not a cloud in the sky.

All this talk of cold and the heat moved out and cool moved in and more rain... The Louisiana Philharmonic was scheduled to play a concert at our local park,Palmer Park ,and it got cancelled.

After yesterday's heat today is cool, grey and raining. Like Rikita I'd rather not go out other than to buy the Sunday Times.

Last evening we had a line of thunderstorms that moved through here that dumped so much rain in such a brief period of time that there was local street flooding. Thank goodness there was finally a break in between to allow the water to recede fairly quickly. I imagine some of the other more low lying areas of town got it even worse. The pumps can't keep up with it.

Our various family flew from SEA Tac yesterday to airports in Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Milwaukee. There were delays coming into the Twin Cities because of wet snow on the runway, and our connecting flight out of Milwaukee was delayed because of "Weather" in Atlanta.
Bellingham WA yesterday AM was 28F, and we were scraping the windshields of the rental cars with our hotel room cards. It was mild when we finally got to St. Louis by 2145, but today the temp is dropping fast. I went out in the dark last night to feel my peppers and tomatoes; they were fine, but I'll do some fast harvesting when I get off work today.

Wet here, but luckily I don't have to jump on the garden produce quite yet: low in mid 40's until Sat night.
Thanks, bixa. We had a good family time at a wedding in WA, 40 min south of Vancouver, with side trips for nights in Vancouver to be tourists and in Tacoma to look at a possible Univ for my daughter. The weather stayed great the entire time we were there.

Down to 1° last night but with a cloudless sky. Still back up to around 18° during the day.

It was below zero over night and I don't think it is going to be warmer than about 5 degrees during the day. And there's a cold wind blowing. I better stay inside today.

Ah yes, Lola ~~ I remember the questions about Vancouver. Your trip sounds delightful.
If you're going to be having mid-40s weather, be sure to bring in staghorn ferns and anything else that won't tolerate below 45.
I would tell y'all about the weather here, but will wait until I can get extra food and bedding for the inevitable onslaught the report will produce. ;D

Yaaaaay! That would be so cool, Annie. You'd have to be Wonder Woman to get up my rutted non-road on a bike, though. You need to stay long enough to start educating people around here about not throwing trash on the ground and not burning it either.

With Maffoo, we are hoping to enjoy our first bike ride together (I leave at a different time than him these days) tomorrow, and on Saturday we are invited to a birthday party. So I hope the same as you, Deyana!

I remember snow from my childhood, Deyana, but I don't really remember wishing it would not snow. It used to start not before November in Switzerland ...and now they're lucky if Christmas sees some. Here in the UK, a few flecks has everyone in a tizzy.

I always hated those sudden temperature drops on the Gulf Coast. Cold = Despair.
Everyone around my area can give me great gratitude for the rains we had yesterday. It's been brutally dry here and was extremely hot yesterday -- obviously a good day to wash clothes. I had two loads done, & one into the rinse water when it started bucketing down. Must go deal with that soon.

Same here in the summer months, we can go ages without it raining, everything dries up, I have to start watering the plants etc. An then come this season, it's a different matter.
Just cloudy today though.

The mountains of northern France (Vosges, Jura, northern Alps) are covered with snow today, and temperatures are down to freezing in most of the east at night.

Reached for the down comforter early this morning as it got into the upper 40F's here with wind gusts. Fortunately I had laundered the guests comforters although not because I thought it would get this chilly, I just took advantage of yesterdays sun and wind to hang stuff out. If the wind would die down it would be glorious.
