Although I'm not a huge fan of skyscrapers (just huge ) there is something quite elegant about some of these buildings. I like the use of curves and angles to break up what could be big oblong boxes with windows.

Did those Russian Hermitage buildings ever get built? I think that real estate bubble deflated even before covid. And then there was covid. And then there was the war in Ukraine. The Russian funds for that, if any, are probably completely blocked.

There was still a lot more to see, but I made a fatal mistake. I didn't want to backtrack on my earlier footsteps, so I went down a ramp for cars, which was clearly used very little even though it was posted "no pedestrians." This took me into loading zones and parking levels and even a bus station. But I finally saw daylight at the far end, so I kept going. When I finally emerged, I was so far from where I wanted to be that I abandoned my expedition. But it frustrated me, so I might go back before long, avoiding the area that I just covered again. Who knows?

What a fabulous addition K2. Your photos really give me an idea of the place and the contrast of ( what appears to be a sterile landscape) with the everyday life of people eating is just so good.
