Ah.....cattails. Reminds me of walking in the swamp where I grew up. At one point in time I had toyed with planting some around my pond here, but, was talked out of doing it by a sage gardener that I know. They can really be invasive in a small garden . But, I still love them.
Kerouac, I believe I saw that same tree in Northern Georgia, only the seed pods were dry and very cool. I picked a branch of them to bring home and have it in a lovely vase. The name of the tree escapes me atm, but, I will ask my friend who I was with as she knows it.

Yes, paulownia, that's it!! Notoriously invasive also.
Your trumpet vine( campsis radicans) pods are gorgeous K2. They are very, very rampant here. Great hummingbird and bee lure. Also very invasive and I've seen them grow out of concrete they're so persistant.

I have a trumpet vine which I adore, they are not very common at all in the UK, but it never gets seed heads like those, probably not warm enough here ?

That looks messy yet efficient for dispersing seeds!

Love your fluffy explosions, Lugg!
Kerouac, you really capture the dreamy, fading beauty of autumn.

I think seed heads has become one of my favourite topics.

I have no idea what it is, but it was part of the municipal gardening of the village.

Mangrove? and pyracantha?

I don't know and forgot to ask. The berries were growing next to the mangrove (first pic) along the edge of the bay at Cedar Key. I don't think that's pyracantha. Perhaps another type of mangrove? I will find out when I go back in a few weeks.
