Cheery I just adore all of the details, the belts, purses, costume jewelry etc.! I think your Frida doll is fabulous and will probably be purchased quickly!

Cheery, every one of your creations is a marvel. They all have so much personality. Does it hurt to part with them? I hope you keep them at home long enough so you get as much pleasure out of them as their eventual buyer will.
I bet there are people already collecting your dolls. I know if I lived nearby I'd go to that shop every chance I got to see if you'd created a new one.

What a bunch of personalities! You have so much imagination & talent, Cheery. It's great that Bramwell can be either steampunk or Edwardian. I think I like this Claire doll even more than the first one, which was quite fabulous. And Frida! You totally captured her & the clothing is a triumph. (as is Claire's, for that matter)

It's lucky you retired, Cheery. Now you have time to do things you really enjoy and are so good at.

Cheery, Richard is magnificent. And you say this one is only a practice piece?

Another personality-packed work of art! I am in awe of your imagination and skill and of the way all your dolls are definitely your work, but all so different from each other.

Cheery, more splendid little people to keep you busy. Are you keeping records of each doll with dates and destinations as well as all round photos? How many dolls have you completed now?
Do we get to see the mosaic as it develops?

Took two dolls to the gallery yesterday. My second Richard III is a bit tubby...but I prefer him to the practice one and the sewing is a lot neater. The galley had 5 already. The owner said that they're always quite slow at this time of year and that things usually pick up in the spring...I was relctant to leave all 7 so negotiated with Dayle and she allowed me to retrieve ONE so Bramwell came home with me (the steampunk one) as all the others have attracted a lot of attention and she thinks that they'll go soon. She pounced on Richard and another 'Claire' (I will only do one more Claire and she's for me!) c2.staticflickr.com/8/7890/33197170918_87009e8895_o.jpgc2.staticflickr.com/8/7910/46348429994_215e9fe7db_z.jpgQuesta...I've kept pics of all the dolls I've made over the past 12 months or so. I've sold 6, given away 5 and kept 4. Only just started doing sketches for the mosaic. I need more brightly coloured tiles really, the shop where I bought the others years ago doesn't sell them anymore so I'll have to resort to Amazon. There were lots of art and craft shops in the city centre but nearly all of them have closed down. I bought some mosaic tiles in the nineties to decorate some terracotta pots which I gave as presents. I just had a few left which I found when I was sorting through my art supplies...result...

Your work hobby continues to be brilliant, but I am imagining their secret lives at night when we are all asleep. I hope it is not like "Chucky."

Seeing as they are in the kitchen I wonder what sort of meals they cook up when you are out of the way.
Super work, my mother would have loved to meet you, she was well into handicrafts like that.

Mossie we spend most of our day in the kitchen-diner 😁 unfortunately (or fortunately) they wouldn't be able to reach the cooker...
2 of my dollies are in the bedroom with my teddy bears (Benjamin and Bobby Bear) ...as far as I know there are no sharp implements for them to murder us with...Jeffers recently got rid of my burglar stick the other day so I cant even bludgeon any robbers that creep into the house..

I think both Richards look great, but somehow the second one does have a more kingly face. I love him and am knocked out by Claire. Re: Dayle ~ well she might pounce! Do you know if the dolls that were sold are still in your town, or have they flown the coop?

My hobbies mean that we have piles of fabric, paper, mosaic tiles, paints, pencils and lots of other stuff all over the place. It was getting quite messy in the conservatory, where I do most of my work. SO we went to Ikea in Coventry and I now have a lovely unit with drawers in and a new desk with lots of storage...it took Jeff hours to put them together and me hours to organise my stuff in them...I'm very happy with them tho...

That is all so neat. I hope that it doesn't suddenly uninspire you to not see all of the artistic materials in reach at all times.

On a side note, when we moved back to Germany we came from a furnished house to an unfurnished one, both rented. All we had each was a suitcase of clothes. Our first job was going to Ikea and buying enough to furnish a three bed house as we had three young kids with us then. We ordered everything and three days later it was delivered. Guess who then had to assemble every last thing.
I must admit it was most enjoyable.

Not so far lagatta...I only started sewing about a year ago. I'm doing other stuff atm but I do have patterns that my Mum had of toy foxes, rabbits and similar dressed as humans...strangely the fox is dressed as a fox hunter (they're from the fifties) I could use the heads...quite like the idea of a fox dressed as a courtly gentleman from the 1700s
Ooh you've started something lagatta.....

What I've been up to lately... My attempt at the punk from The Young Ones an 80s sitcom this is Vyvyan. Not selling him as hes not good enough imo. Took this one in last Friday, according to the gallery owner she sold within an hour! Working on this one atm...it's a Jimmi Hendrix (sort of) and I'm having lots of fun making a frilly psychedelic shirt, crushed velvet flares etc....

I am off to a Punk party soon, thanks for the style to follow...
and as for Jimi...YESSS!
Your dolls are wonderful. Bixa, is it possible to have all the dolls moved to a new thread so we can see them all together?

Thank you for your positive feedback you are all LOVELY. Next time I'm on my proper laptop I can make a doll thread if that isn't being too presumptuous.

In the last communication from my brother, I was informed that they don't have any horses anymore, having reached an age (my brother) and health status (my sister-in-law) where it is no longer a viable option. However, I was happy that they didn't use the "too expensive" excuse which is the first one of which I would have thought. That proves that they really loved horses, and that is nice.
