I just joined, and I'm on a relatively slow Internet connection. How can I get rid of the busy background image? The first one was pretty but now I have pink suitcases all over the background.
Best wishes, Don Cuevas

Welcome.
Click on Profile in the top menu bar.
Click on Modify Profile.
Go to the 4th section down - Account Preferences - and click on Select Skin.
You'll get an alphabetized drop-down menu of skins.
The plainest ones are "canvas", "very plain", "verdigris", and "suit up".
Note to anyone who has trouble seeing text that floats over the background: highlight it & it will show up as white on black.

A new backgound image came up unbidden, as I navigated to "Waterfront Park". Is it that ones' preference settings must be reset for different sub-fora?

A few of the boards have their own backgrounds. As we say in the wizard biz, roll with it.

Good to know. I'd changed mine to Liverpool as I love such old industrial/port scenes, but don't like the way it flashes on and off as I'm accessing posts, and makes it hard to see the names of the boards.
There are really a few minor glitches with that.
