Hey all,
My home team -- The Green Bay Packers -- is in the Super Bowl this year!
It's kind of fun to have everyone go crazy about it. It's just non-stop Packers everywhere you turn. I imagine if one was not a football fan it would be tiring, but I don't mind. I put on my green and gold and cheer along with everyone else. It's a bit of fun in all this cold and snow!
By the way, to Packer fans, last week's NFC championship game was a bigger deal even than the Super Bowl. Our rivalry with the Chicago Bears is legendary!
So.... Go Pack Go!!!

I heard on the news that there is a major dilemma because neither team has cheerleaders or other such bimbos -- and this creates a severe problem of what to do with some of the cameras during boring moments. Perhaps somebody could have a wardrobe malfunction?

I didn't even know that about the cheerleaders. I know GB used to have cheerleaders because a girl I went to high school with was one. But I just researched it and found out they got rid of them in the 80's.
Oh well, I say show more of the Black-Eyed Peas. I think they're entertaining. And I'm sure many viewers wouldn't mind a Fergie "wardrobe malfunction"..

The year that the Tampa Bay Bucs won, my mother called me around 3:30 a.m.

The year that the Tampa Bay Bucs won, my mother called me around 3:30 a.m. That's so, so cute, and so reminiscent of my mother. The last time I saw my mother, the N.O. Saints were on the TV the first night I got there and she insisted I stay up and watch them with her,and I'm not even a football fan.Cristine, her caretaker, told me my mother was a nervous wreck that I was going to miss the kick off!!! ;D Sorry for the thread jack, just a really funny, pleasant, lovely, memory.

Good the Packers won. I'd consider them my favourite team in the NFL.

I haven't watched the Super Bowl in 40 years, but I have decided to try to watch it today. I don't even know who is playing.
I'm sure I will fall asleep before it finishes (after all, it appears to be starting at half past midnight here) and on top of that the commercials will be blacked out due to international regulations.
Who should I be rooting for? Generally I prefer the underdog.

Casimira, what's the scoop? Any idea why the power went out in half the stadium?

I can tell you that I heard the transformer blow from my upstairs balcony!! I thought it was fireworks and then came to find out it was the power outage!! Very freaky. In addition to be married to a conspiracy buff.....Jeez...... I think it's Beyonce's fault....a little too juicy?

Now, it's a real ball game at least although, I am really pulling for the Ravens..... Jacoby Jones who broke the all time record with 109 yards in 11 seconds is a NOLA home boy.

Well, as expected I certainly came nowhere close to seeing the end of the game. During the commercial breaks there were excerpts and bloopers of all of the games of the season.
Having watched a rugby game the same day, I once again appreciated what a superior sport rugby is, where the plays do not last just 5 seconds.

Htmb, that was a super ad. Took me back to my first job at 16, working on a farm. I wasn't tough enough and soon left for the big smoke . Don't know what the whiners would say today, we had a 49 hour week including Saturday mornings, plus a fair bit of overtime, which was compulsory. Sit down and eat your sandwiches in the corner of the yard after digging out p1gshit all morning, de dah, de dah, de dah.

Well, it certainly ended up being a real nailbiter of a game all the way until the very last seconds. Jeez. Now, we can get back to abnormal here. For all the money that was spent on spiffing up the citys infrastructure, I would doubt that they were prepared for that! A real F up. But, only in NOLA.

We watched the game, we really enjoyed it. I was a bit confused by the last two plays in the game but once it was over and I understood the plays I thought how amazing it was for the Ravens to come up with those plays and for the team to execute them, well done!
The Go Daddy ad was distasteful, but they achieved what they wanted, I mentioned it and I remembered the sponsor.

They made us watch Beyoncé twice due to the power failure. Did they do that to the rest of you?

Oh God no.....they filled in with some earlier shots and local features, thank goodness. I could never have watched that twice...Jeez.

That rugby match was the lead story on the Italian radio news today. Sorry about that ;D

After all of those years when the Italians lost all 5 matches, I am always happy to see them win. One day they might finally take the tournament.
