Tonight was the night, and there were quite a few surprises, as I don't think that any film won more than 3 awards, even though a number of them had 10 or 11 nominations.
Anyway, here are the principal awards:
Best Film: Of Gods and Men (just released in the U.S.) Best Director: Roman Polanski for The Ghost Writer Best Actress: Sara Forestier for Le Nom des Gens (major surprise) Best Actor: Eric Elmosnino for Gainsbourg (major surprise) Best foreign film: The Social Network

I think I missed of Gods and Men at my local cinema. I wanted to go see it and then forgot. shoot! it looks really really good.
The Gainsbourg film was totally enjoyable. Excellent on many levels, I thought at the time.
need to go check further results. Do the Cesars suffer from the Oscars being so near after their ceremony? in he sense of actors maybe not turning up in Paris so they can look good in Los Angeles?

Well, the main "international" stars who were there were Jodie Foster who presided the ceremony, and Quentin Tarentino who received a career award. Olivia De Havilland also was there for a standing ovation, but she has lived in Paris for years. It is nice to see that she is still alive, though.
It's true that the "Social Network" people were not there, though.
