I thought they were already using those in British breakfast sausages. It certainly tastes like it.

The feathers-into-plastic sounds like a good idea. I can't remember which of the original "miracle fabrics" is made from wood -- rayon, maybe?
Going the opposite direction, plastic-into-organic, a few years ago I read of an Italian company that had adulterated its grated Parmesan cheese with the ground-up handles from umbrellas.

Since this thread is setting here with its jolly title, I thought I'd use it to post little things that make me happy.
Such as ~~
Firefox 4, which I just loaded.
Ooooooooo! One nifty thing is the little triangle of gray dots in the bottom right corner of the Reply box. You can use it to make the box bigger!

I downloaded it just after it came out. But there was something I didn't like about it, can't remember now what it was. Something about the bars at the top maybe. So I re-downloaded Firefox 3.16(?).

I don't have Firefox on this computer at the moment, just IE9 and Chrome. But I will give it another try, although I am a bit worried about little triangles of gray dots.

Mark, I was trying to pay something online & couldn't get to the payment page. Wrote to the support staff at that site & was told to try IE, which worked.
But I can't live that way! I neeeed to use Firefox. What I don't understand is why I didn't get the ff4 update automatically.
I think when it was released, there were many grumbles about it because of stuff being moved around. So far, I'm really okay with it.

I've read many sites have problems with paying something with Firefox. Usually it's the porn sites. So.....Bixa...........

And you weren't notified about FF4? I'm afraid that's quite common. There is a selection procedure, you know?
Oooops, actually it's a secret that there is a selection procedure. The lowest level of people, according to FF don't even know there is. The next level know there is but have been refused. The third level are those who know there is, have applied and passed. The fourth and top level are those, as myself, who didn't have to go through any selection procedure and were just invited anyway.
Sorry Bixa, but I'll put in a good word for you for next time.

Actually, I was trying to put credit into my new Rebtel account. I think Rebtel belongs here in the ☼♪ happy♥♫ thread, as it is making me happy so far. I talked to my mother in the US for almost 28 minutes and it cost me 37¢ www.rebtel.comYet another instance of cheer ~~ the Telmex guy has been here & gone & my internet is finally fixed.

It's almost 11:30 at night, & a bunch of men and boys are playing soccer in the playing field in front of my house, & having a fine time. I feel so lucky to have found this neighborhood.
Also, I made myself a stellar supper tonight. Life is good.

And in front of my building this afternoon, they set up a police checkpoint, and I was standing there when somebody suddenly screeched out to avoid being stopped and even hit one of the policemen. It was not nearly as efficient as in the crime shows (I saw them wasting time deciding who should jump into the car to give chase, and the car was pointed the wrong direction, which made them lose even more time -- that never happens on TV! Worst of all, we didn't get to see what happened next.). So I just went to the barber shop.

Well, that wasn't very happy for the policeman who got hit!
Did you go to the barber shop for a haircut, or because they might have info there?
Perhaps it's time for you to enter codgerhood and start scanning the police radio.

I downloaded the new Firefox 4, but then found all my add-ons and plug-ins were not supported so I also changed back to 3.16

Why do so many 'new versions' think that we want things moved around without asking us?

So far, I'm really okay with it. I think FF4 is still in Beta testing. I wasn't notified that it was available for download either. BTW: I downloaded the FF mobile application for my phone, but whooooaaaa nelly did it eat some battery life. It had a cool feature of being able to synch with your home version of FF (for favorites, plug-ins, etc.). I wish it would have been better.

It seems they got caught up in the higher-number-versions-faster race. I won't use beta versions of anything if I know they're beta. That said, isn't Google Search still, perpetually beta? Firefox 4 is no longer beta, in case you want to try the app on your phone again. They now have 4.0.1 poised to leap into our computers on the 26th. blog.internetnews.com/skerner/2011/04/mozilla-firefox-401-now-in-bet.html
