I really don't know how we got them. We didn't have them analysed. The grass looks healthy. I'm very curious whether we will see them again in the fall.

Interesting plant similarities between your last photo and mine, Kerouac.
Amboseli, that looks very worrying!

It IS worrying, htmb. It's a fairy ring. We had one last year too, dug up a big part of our lawn and used a strong fungicide. To no avail, apparently.

I did read in today's paper that it is the height of mushroom season.

Yes,it's very humid and still pretty warm for the time of the year. My husband dug them out again. We'll see whether they stay away or not ...

Thank'ee. I've catalogued at least 60 kinds of mushrooms/lichens on our property, always finding more.

I don't think I've visited this thread before. Shame on me. Some spectacular photos. HTMB's bicycle a classic!
I'm kind of questioning Kerouac's last entry. Is it a lichen, fungus, moss? I know I'm being nitpicky. Just curious... I think it may be an epiphyte or type of bracken, some of which are parasitic and grow on specific host trees. I say this because we have several here. Some are fern allies.

The IDing is indeed tricky without seeing a close up and being more familiar with this plant genus. Something that I am limited in . Perhaps "Mossie" could help us out.

But you are right that it might be some sort of miniature fern.

I found this in our wood shavings pile. It must be delicious, judging from the diners. It's larger than a dinner plate all told.
