Great how the sun was just right to catch the scales on the wing

It was in a butterfly house, Mossie, and I think the glass softened the sun's glare enough to make for a better picture.

I lost a lot of my bumblebee pictures in the great photobucket betrayal...but I've downloaded a few of m old ones to repost. I hope that this is ok..some are over 5 years old... bombus hypnorum queen b.pascuorum queen (maybe) b. lucorum male b. lapidarius queen b.terrestris queen (might be b.lucorum but I think it's terrestris)

Right.....all the pics in post #342 were taken with my little Lumix TZ5. I haven't used it for years but I fired it up today and started snapping away. Bee photography takes a while to get right imo...I always start the season with rubbish photos I took dozens and then had a fight with my laptop (not used the Lumix on it before)....couldn't find the right connector so I had to plug the memory card itself into the laptop...what a faff! Managed to get a couple of pics...none of them particularly clear. Bear with me...they're the first ones.

Amboseli your images are so clear...what camera do you use? I'm very happy with my old Lumix. Putting the Cannon back to factory settings and hoping for the best!
