I don't see no more sig lines. Today is just Thursday. At work. Tomorrow Friday, at work mostly with one little highlight in the afternoon, a meeting with the UNDP. Then..... WEEKEND! But not really sure yet what we'll do. Have to ask GF. She always has some idea.

Arrrgh ~~ I'll tell you the same thing I told Gyro yesterday -- I don't think anyone in this thread is using a sig line except #15. Can you see that one?
What is UNDP?
Where do y'all live -- right in the city, or outside?
(questions, questions)

United Nations Development Fund. Big bucks here in Cambo... LOL!
We live sort of in the city but not really downtown. We're mobile so we've had a look around. I'm thinking of getting out of the city for the Saturday afternoon, not the whole weekend.

When February has 28 days, the days of the week are identical in March for the first 28 days.

I can't WAIT for Saturday morning. Lil Star is going off to be spoilt rotten at Grandma's tonight and tomorrow we are going to have a LIE-IN.
Wooop Wooopity Woooop.
I might have to shoot the damned woodpecker in the tree by my window (who woke me up at 5.30am today) if he disturbs this long-awaited snoozeathon.

When February has 28 days, the days of the week are identical in March for the first 28 days. Really?! So that means every year except leap year. I never thought about it, but of course it makes sense, as 28 is a multiple of 7.

Lucky you, Kerouac. Are you staying home or going somewhere?

No, I'm not going anywhere, but there are worse places to spend four days of leisure than Paris. I have a Smart for the weekend to take my mother out a little bit.

What is a "Smart" please?
Don't know what I'll be doing this weekend, but I'm off for my walk in a few minutes.
Recently I decided to get back in the habit of a daily walk, which my neighbor Charlie & I had been in the habit of doing. Yesterday, since she couldn't go, I struck out alone. My objective was the tech college fairly close to my house, as I was hoping to ramble through the grounds.
Wow! The college is the original site of the village of Nazareno, which moved to its present (adjacent) site only in 1970. It was a glorious walk -- it's so green in there and filled with birdsong. To my chagrin, I found that the Orchid House is right on the grounds. I'd heard of this place ages ago, & never followed up -- and for three years I've been living within walking distance of it!

This is a Smart. It was originally conceived by the creator of the Swatch, but he didn't have enough money to build it, so Mercedes did. The Smart factory is in France, however. They have become very popular in urban areas in Europe.

How adorable and practical! They are perfect for cities, as they'd double your chances of finding a parking space.

In fact, two of them can fit in one parking space.

I'm not doing much tomorrow but on Sunday I'll drive to Brighton, Sussex for the day with a friend. We're going to a conference in the morning (he's a lawyer, it's on divorce); we'll have lunch and look around the shops. Brighton is a couple of hours from where I live.

I can't believe this week has gone by so quickly. The weekend weather promises to be gorgeous and with my knee getting better every day I hope to do some gardening Sunday. First I have to get through Saturday though and the commitment I made to work as a Poll Commissioner at a local election being held tomorrow.God, do I dread it. I have to be there at 4:45a.m. or so to set up the voting machines, fill out fifty million forms and be ready to open the doors at 6a.m. The turnout might be about 2% which will make for a very, very, slow day. I could use the money as pitiful as the pay is. I'm already conjuring up excuses in my head to not have to do it.

I'm only working 3 days next week and then I'm off until the 22nd. I'm trying to get my stock of vacation days down even if I can't travel, because I have a backlog of about 60 days at the moment.

Tomorrow I've been invited for a 10:00am breakfast in the New Forest. There'll be 5 of us.
Sunday I'm invited to Chichester area for the day. Swiss friends are over visiting. I'll go to the beach and gather beautiful stones for my garden. I love spending days with old friends. It's so relaxing. No effort is needed.

On Sunday three of us collected stones from Bognor beach. We didn't take many. But an old hag caught us up when walking home; she looked into the bag (what a cheek!) and said 'that's illegal'. We had to quicken our pace and run home before she called the police. This is what England is like now.

Spindrift, imagine if millions of people went to Bognor and each took five stones back home! LOL!
That's the kind of shit I was so fed up with in Germany. People reporting your license plate number to the police because you weren't parking properly, having to take your dead dog to some dog incinerator instead of burying him in the garden at home, not being allowed to build a bloody shed in said garden without some government approval.
Thank you.

Spindrift, when we go to Brighton next month I'll take some stones from London to leave on the beach there. That'll help even things out.

Long weekend.... spending it at the bf's. Arrived thursday at about midnight, all of yesterday was spent lazy in bed (well i did study a bit while he was at his mom's). Today we go climbing at some nearby rocks (well we cycle there, which should take about two hours)... Tomorrow Easter lunch at his mom's place. Monday will be either lazy or climbing.

HW,how would the authorities know whether or not you buried a dog in your backyard? There's an ordinance against it here as well but has never stopped us. One vet even offered us to help.

You've never heard of German discipline, casimira? Even if you aren't disciplined, your neighbor are. And most people quickly discover that the neighbors are on 24 hour watch, too.

In Germany don't they have restrictions on cutting your lawn on Sunday? And as for hanging your laundry out to dry...
