I have only read Trainspotting, which I read after watching the film. I "enjoyed" it more than the film. I remember reading a review of his latest a few weeks ago, but cannot remember what it was called, only that it was a prequel to Trainspotting. The review did not incite me to rush out and buy it.
How do you rate him ?

Don't know yet, lugg!
I got attracted to the title of one of his books at the charity shop around the corner the other day and wondered what APIAS members made of him.
Time to confess I had not made the link with trainspotting. oops!

How do you rate him ? Same with me -- I read the book after seeing the film and liked it very much. I thought I had read something else by him, but after just checking the titles of his other works, I see that it is not the case.
