Choucroute - Sauerkraut. I bought 2 packs for the whole family but the daughters dislike it. Save once every two years when my wife brings one from Metz.

More herring (not smoked) with boiled potatoes. I love it.

We had a mishmash of chicken pieces stir fried with honey, garlic, ginger, light soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce and curry powder...carrot and courgette shavings, water chestnuts, chopped red pepper and broccoli florets I tipped in a pan of white rice (perfectly cooked tho I say so myself) and stirred in some diced spring onions. It was lush.

I had 2 fried eggs with a slice of ham. I made a fried egg and bacon sandwich for my husband. We are going out for dinner tonight!

That's what I want, I think.
Today is my day to lunch with other ladies, in fact I was the person who chose the restaurant today. Too bad for me, the last couple of days of vague nausea culminated in a more dramatic manifestation pre-dawn today. I cooked and ate some apples when I got up, as this was suggested online, but now (3 pm) I'd like real food. What to do?

Leftover sweet and sour chicken with pineapple rice. Stirred the rice into the sweet and sour mixture then bunged it in the microwave

I finished my extremely nourishing soup made out of chicken carcasses. I even managed to store a container of it in the freezer for once.

my extremely nourishing soup made out of chicken carcasses. For brunch I had the leftover broth made from beef bones. Not pretty, but quite delicious and satisfying. Tuna and salad open sandwich with colesalw. Very nice it was too. Oooo, yeah ~ I can imagine! Today I had lunch at La Parroquia in Coatepec, a branch of the famous La Parroquia in the port of Veracruz. I had the menu del día (105 pesos), choosing fish for the entree.

Looked up sopa de la milpa. I'd like that I'm sure. Lunch today - two sausage cobs. Unfortunately the wrong sausages and the wrong cobs but the onion and ketchup were authentic -

Yes, the sopa de la milpa looks good but "chicken with coca cola"??

A table companion ordered that. It looked okay & she offered me a taste. I passed. We were all amazed at the very idea of Coke and chicken.
Nice looking lunch, Mark. Did you make the buns?

My photo all looks a bit pink on my computer. Never saw that when I posted it. Bixa, no, not made by me. It was a quick lunch due to a few other things happening and I keep a few packets of those half cooked rolls you stick in the oven for ten minutes. Funnily enough I said to my daughter I'd gone some bread in the oven and she was thought I'd made some from scratch. She was quite disappointed but then as quite happy to slap butter on a couple whilst they were still warm.
Edited - changed the photo.

I made a German Knorr soup (Buchstaben Suppe) which most of us would just call alphabet soup. Vegan.

We had nothing obvious in the fridge and no bread so had a root round in the freezer. Found a lunch for one pasta and chicken plus some leftover lamb curry from a takeaway a while back. Put them together, whizzed in the microwave. Delicious!
