I have never been to this event two years in a row and frankly, I have been only about 5 times in 40 years, but I have to admit that every year when the big weekend arrives, the idea of going there pulls at me. This is the second of the three days (since it runs Friday-Saturday-Sunday), and it has pretty much been raining or at least drizzling for the last two days. This makes me rather sad since these events are really dependent upon good weather, particularly the concerts in the huge prairie. Once or twice when I went, it had rained recently and it turned into a mud festival like Woodstock, which has a certain charm but which will never appeal to the majority.
Looking at the photos again really makes me want to go back on a nice weekend -- maybe next year?

It looks like something we would experience once in a lifetime. The different stalls with their food would be a big YES for us, and nibbling our way through a day would be enjoyable. Is it the same time every year? Within a week or so.

Yes, it is aways at the same time of year -- when the proletariat have returned from their hard-earned holidays and needs to have their batteries recharged for a new year of struggle against capitalism and oppression.
