hmyeah i was thinking about that... in the other place the advantage is indeed that the photos can be posted in the private area, so only regular users can see it... and that they can be directly uploaded rather than linked, as i have none of them online so far... is there a way to upload them here rather than link them?

Rikita, all sections of anyport are open to everyone -- no private areas except for PMs.

yeah i know... which is part of why i am hesitating... but what i also mean is, is there a way to do a direct upload here? because i don't have the pictures on flickr yet and was only planning to put them there in a few more months - usually i post pictures here via flickr...

Ah, no. All pictures on all Proboards forums have to be hosted somewhere first. If you've loaded them on a private album in facebook, for instance. you can use that url to post the picture here. Do you know about imgur? It's a super site for when you just want to upload a couple of pictures & you can make everything you store there not available to the public, yet still use any url from there to post a picture here. Pretty good quality, too. imgur.com/

i'll check it out, maybe that might be a way to post them here without messing up my flickr photostream (as that one is carefully composed and all that...)

not sure anymore actually, chinchillas maybe? saw them at the zoo a few years ago...
but that is good, that means i can also post photos that i set on private in flickr - so i can upload some there without them messing up my normal photo stream there...

She didn't inherit your red hair! Lovely, smiley little girl in the second picture. I too find it amazing how quickly the grow and change when they are so small.

Super, you must be very proud.
They grow so quickly but you are so busy you don't notice. Having photos is such a good reminder and you can look back in years to come and think " however did I manage" ;D ;D
Thanks for sharing with us.

always fascinates me how much personality is already in those expressions - thanks for sharing, stay sound!
p.s. assume that dark hair will be going soon, so there would still be a chance for red?

Ohhhhhhh ~~ the princess is perfect!!! She looks so alert & intelligent, even in the first day photo. And that adorable, coquettish smile ~~ soooooooooo pretty! I see Nautiker & I are both rooting for red hair. Still, brunette is beautiful, too. Thanks so much for the pictures, Rikita. You just turned an entire forum into a bunch of happy, cooing aunts and uncles.

i was quite surprised too, that she doesn't have red hair, but i think now she is perfect as she is... she got the hair from her dad, it seems, his was the same as a baby (and he also had hair already, while i was born almost bald), and now it is brown in winter and dark blond in summer.

Re the black hair. If babies are born with hair it is generally black, but it disappears after a while and the natural colour comes through. So there is hope for carrots yet ;D ;D

My son was born with black hair. When that disappeared, he had a stick-straight mop of soft chestnut hair with red lights. Then in adolescence it got wiry, curly, & shiny black -- which he still has.

I am always surprised that hair can change completely -- not so much for colour but for curliness.
My two older kids were born with very dark hair, then after that rubbed off, they both had sort of brownish hair with a bit of curl to it. The youngest just had some peach fuzz at birth, then grew blonde hair which began to curl when he was about 9 months old. By the time he was 3, he had real curls. Now his hair has become much darker but is still curly.
But I know two men who had straight hair until they were about 18, when it suddenly becaume really curly and has stayed that way for decades.

thanks!
we will see about the hair... those in my family that are red haired had it from the beginning (what little hair we had) but yeah, hair can also change... and my brothers both had slightly curly hair as toddlers, but not anymore after that...
