What a wonderfully varied collection of skylines, Amboseli. I especially like the cool white houses of Spain.

Fabulous skylines, but of course some of them were technically "landscapes" (which also has a thread). It is just a language nuance -- skylines now usually refer to cities and landscapes refer to less populated areas. But don't worry, amboseli -- you made no error because any photo that shows the horizon is a skyline. And for that very reason, I would have been tormented about where to put that wonderful next-to-last photo with the white village, but at least you didn't have that problem.

Well, it is clear that English is not my first language. Thanks for clarifying 'skyline', kerouac.

Yes, I figured that it was a translation problem. I don't understand English sometimes either.

I think we all have exactly the same photo from the peak at Hong Kong.

Hope this comes out OK. Tried to find the panoramas thread but Anyport doesn't know it.

Taken from Tour Montparnasse?

Yes. It makes a superb viewing point and I was lucky enough to go there on a nice day with good visibility. That is an assemblage of several photos done a few years back.

I've never been up to the top. One day I'll have to give it a try.

Thanks! It's taken from the sea, that is somewhat from a different angle.

The foreman setting out the job on that twisted tower on the right must have had nightmares.

From Wiki: Upon its opening on 10 June 2013, the tower has become world's tallest (*) high rise building with a twist of 90 degrees. (*) tallest ... we're in Dubai, right?!

Re-opening this old thread, we have a different form of skyline here. The main airway to the east passes over us. I noticed this one showing a decaying contrail, which reminds me that swirl is because the exhaust is flung out by a rapidly rotating fan
