Yes, it still isn't too hard, but when you add another set of questions, he often gets the answer unless you have chosen someone impossibly unknown (always a temptation but with some amazing surprises from time to time).

I just played again with "Bixaorellana" in mind. The first guess was "a colleague" and the second guess was "a teacher." Neither is completely incorrect.

well in my case, he gave up after the second set of questions... was the writer of a book about child soldiers in sierra leone, that i read a couple of years ago...

It really does feel like he's reading our minds. I stumped him with the US Unknown Soldier, but he was circling with all the right questions. Maybe it wasn't a fair choice.

Wow, they have added a lot of new languages. But I stumped him with Hiam Abbass. On the second try, he discovered Jean-François Copé in an instant.

This site continues to amaze me at how it can usually give the correct reply while seeming to ask no specific questions that lead it to the conclusion.
Yes, of course you can beat it if you think of the most incredibly obscure person possible, but it can really figure out the most amazing answers.
Give Akinator a try. Quoting the OP so we don't have to go back to page one to get to Akinator.

I played less than a week ago. Must be down for maintenance.
Modified to add: it's working again.

I just noticed that Akinator is now available in 14 languages. Naturally, he is extremely faster when you play in the language of the nationality of the person you are looking for.

In a moment of abandon, I started playing Akinator again, but for the first time ever I clicked on "game report" after the end of the game and discovered how often I was wrong replying to the questions. No wonder he sometimes has problems guessing the name of the character.

I beat him after more than 60 questions, looking for Yum-Yum from the Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan.

Oh Dear, I found this thread just as I was ready for bed last night. I clicked on to Akinator just to check it out...you can guess the rest....another late night!
It is interesting to follow the "thinking" pattern as it filters the information.

I have noticed that Akinator is getting worse and worse, probably due to too many people now asking about too many obscure people. But every now and then it finds my person almost immediately with mouth-dropping precision.

It took only 11 questions to find Donald Trump. I wonder why.

What a dud! It got to almost 60 questions with me, wrongly guessed two men, and finally said there was a "technical issue".

I tried Akinator with Rishi Sunak and it gave me two wrong answers before I stopped. 1. Boris Johnson 2. Nigel Farage
Troubling!
