Bagnold Point - is a headland between Gunnel Channel and Shumskiy Cove on the Arrowsmith Peninsula, Graham Land. It was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1960 for Ralph A. Bagnold, English author of The Physics of Blown Sand and Desert Dunes 1941, desert explorer and founder of the Long Range Desert Group in 1940, the scourge of the Axis forces in the Egyptian and Libyan deserts.

Fayed (alternative - Fayid) - town on the Bitter lake in Egypt that once was home to an RAF base - "After the immediate postwar rundown of RAF units in the Mediterranean, RAF Fayed became the home of No. 13 Squadron RAF flying Mosquitos. Mark, I served on 39 Sqdn at Kabrit in Egypt, it had moved there from Fayid which then became the base for Transport Command, serving as our airport for the area. I did fly to and from Fayid several times for various reasons.
