Our dear Baz is down and out Resting in bed and warm no doubt His lady wife runs here and there With toast and other delicious fare To get him on his feet again To work in the garden (in the rain).

Gastric distress is a thing of the past It's time to make a real repast Will Bazfaz pop the cork tonight and say "oh that tastes just right"? Or are the intestinal devils still at work to shout "if you drink that, you're a jerk"?

I looked in the freezer for something to eat Something interesting perhaps, maybe a treat The boxes of mystery greeted my eyes I knew it was time for a frozen surprise What was hiding inside I just didn't know It went in the pot with the stove on low

Poor little uninspired Bix looks round the kitchen for something to fix. She could have garbanzos, but they need soaking. Should she run to the store? You must be joking! She contemplates tortillas, cheese and that can of beans. She will have some supper, by any means.

There's nothing finer than a salad Someone should really write a ballad Curly endive or even Romaine On any table is always a gain With balsamic vinegar and olive oil Tossing it all is not even toil

The last several poems are of very high quality.
There really isn't much to be said I have given up and gone to my bed £10 I paid for a gastronomic feast A jar from France containing a beast Two thighs from a poor little Duck I didn't enjoy them, I was out of luck!

Easter is finished, time for something new. I'm ready for strawberries, what about you? Spring is warming gardens in a special way. Things are growing fast as we appoach May. What are we going to be able to buy? Our bank accounts are empty and we know why.

I wonder why food costs so much Meals are expensive, we have to go Dutch Ingredients flown from far distant places Subject to taxes and outrageous crazes Better by far to grow your own Now is the time to get your seeds sown.

Kerouac may be playing possum, but his meal sounds pretty awesome! It is very French, I must say -- Is he sporting his beret? It's good to hear that he is fain to enjoy some leisure by the Seine.

When your stomach for victuals doth yearn, yet chopping and mixing and cooking you spurn, look around yon cupboard for something nice, perhaps a sandwich could be had in a trice: Bread with butter or mayonnaise as glue for a slice of tomato and cheese that is bleu.

Will you combine boneless duck with some peach? Or would that with brown gravy be out of your reach? If time is lacking, it might be just Spam for us, salty and canned and not very glamorous. Suppertime comes, we must eat, that's for sure. But planning and cooking are often a chore.

The people here eat lots of cheese They gobble it and say 'more please'! Not like the Asians who hate that stuff And eat rotten eggs and fish that puff What strange things we put on our plate Often dismaying others with what we ate

The melons are getting ripe In the fields of southern France Don’t think that it is hype That the taste makes you want to dance Along with a big plate of tripe Picnic fare to attract ants!

Why is there always waste Is it because of our haste Or due to a change of taste We should eat what we buy No need to ask why Just chew and swallow and sigh

Soon Spindrift will be back with her face burned almost black. She's going to annoy us although she will be joyous with all of her pictures of Goan food. and maybe a new Indian dude.

Speaking for myself, I say ~ Spindrift's been too long away. I can't imagine she'd ever annoy us! She's so pleasant and her photos are gorgeous. Plumped with Goan goodies? Even so, She'd easily snag an Indian, or any beau.
