Merci Lola…. I hope you'll love it !!! We are here and sorry I haven't checked in until now LOL. It's been lovely although today the weather was really nasty for Christmas Eve. I still think the tree in front of Notre Dame is one of the ugliest decorated trees I have ever seen - and I am pretty easy to please when it comes to twinkling lights LOL. But everything is so beautiful ….. even in the wind and rain I love the busses - have been taking them mostly and didn't even buy the bus booklet. Use it once with my hubby and the wheel chair. Everybody is super helpful! Give me some time and I'll post photos - jet lag still has his grasp on us for some reason Well Merry Christmas and Bonne Fete !!!

I hope you have a great time in Paris, fgrsk8r! The weather is really miserable tonight -- rainy and windy -- but it should improve soon. No rain in Paris on Christmas day (theoretically)!

Thanks htmb & kerouac…. That's what I read too I thought about going out one more time but it's just too wet. Good thing though as I did a quick "Passages of Paris" tour earlier while my hubby was watching "The Maltese Falcon" and I just got back home before everything closed and the rain began again at 15:50 !!! Thanks K for the inspiration - I'll post the pix soon (maybe even tomorrow, depending on the weather LOL). Is it ok to post here? They are decorated for Christmas…. or should I tag on the original Passages thread??? The funniest photo I took today pretty much sums the weather up perfectly … doesn't it??? (I think there were 3 umbrellas inside the trash and the one next to it…. it was a common sight today)

Yes, of course the passages decorated for Christmas are a perfect thing to post here. Naturally, the thread about the passages is another possibility.

OK…. so while my cowboy is asleep already - I am too excited to go to bed. we have the window open as this tiny, cozy flat gets warm pretty fast and the bedding is very comfy and what do I hear…. the bells of Notre Dame!!! That was a wonderful surprise So since I am awake I'll start my quick trip report of the passages for ya'll as a christmas present LOL. I didn't really plan to go today, we wanted to go to the Orsay but I knew that getting the Cowboy out in this weather would be nearly impossible (and totally understandable) so we kept an eye on the weather and by 2:30 p.m. I decided I should at least give the Passage Jouffroy a shot. I had mapped the Bus route from the Hotel de Ville and left my husband with his good book and a glass of something something I was able to catch the earlier bus towards Pigalle (I got my Nagivo yesterday) and was supposed to get of at Grand Boulevard. Somehow I missed it (I don't think I did) …. it kept saying…. 6 min… 4 min… 2 min and then they were at the stop AFTEr Grand Boulevard. Oh well, I got off and as if the Universe just meant to tell me something, I was right across from the Passage Verdeau. Remembering that some of the Passages just kinda flow into one another (thanks again Kerouac) I was just going with the flow. And of course…. Passage Verdeau ended and I crossed the street to Passage Jouffroy !!!! yeah….. there were still plenty of people but they were closing up shop/restaurants everywhere and it was easy to walk through. I had forgotten that after Jouffroy there was another Passage right across from that and so I got my early Christmas gift of three Passages when I only expected to see one (Passage des Panomaras). My favorite hands down is Jouffroy and I wish I had more time to explore the shops and the museum, but I was just happy to be able to see and explore for the time I was there - I would have NEVER know if it wasn't for this forum!!! Obviously I was in a completely different area and just started walking. I figured I'd find either a metro or a bus stop and since Hotel de Ville is my "hub" I am pretty lucky to have a good pick of busses. I was right at "Bourse" Metro but also the Bus stop with the 74. Since I would have to change Metro to the 4 (Cite) I took the bus and it was only a 3 min wait. So here are my photos … it actually started with the umbrella photo above, that was on my way to the bus stop!

Full marks skater, some excellent shots of the passages.
If you, or anyone else is visiting Passage Jouffrey, i would recommend a cafe and cake stop at le Valentin.
