The Northern Lights are one of the things that have been on my bucket list since childhood, and I am determined to see them in person some day.
Did you see them yourself, Louis?

Yes, I have seen them a number of times. I live in Traverse City, MI and if you get in the country away from the city lights you can see them on occasion. The best I have seen is in the Canadian wilderness north and east of Sault Ste. Marie. The fall and late summer is a good time to see them.
Here is some more excitement on Lake Superior:

That looks extremely refreshing, but I bet that don't sit out on their surfboards all day like the surfers of warm oceans.

Aurora Borealis in Yellowknife, captured by a Korean tourist. I've seen them several times in my life, but never like this.

They might have been smoking more than a peace pipe in those tipis!
