I did not know if my pic was appropriate or not, but you did tell me to go find a dead bird. That was the best I could do on short notice. That's an outstanding capture, Htmb, both on your part & that of the bird. I'm sure froggy isn't happy about it, though.

That poor froggy was actually screaming. It was horrible, but that's what happens to many frogs out on Paynes Prairie.

Although it is often said that cockroaches will take over the world, I often believe that pigeons will come in a close second.

We spent about ten minutes watching as the anhinga tried to eat the struggling fish. He ended up dropping it in the water once an aggressive blue heron showed up to steal a bite.

I've seen that once in my life and of course in nature documentaries as well, but I always feel sorry for animals who have to swallow their food without even tasting it. Of course animals that taste their food are probably in a minority, but at least dogs and cats are able to show their preferences as are primates and I suppose most herbivores.

The ones who choose berries to eat probably have some sense of taste since they don't just eat any berry.

Thanks! That was a spur of the moment, one-handed shot taken while the stupid dog twirled the leash around my ankles. Sometimes I manage to get it right, and this is one I'm proud of.

I was going into the market when I noticed them. By the time I had the camera up & running, they'd become disorderly, but then returned to formation.
