Bill C-51 is a controversial new anti-terrorist bill being touted by Canada's Conservative Party. Many people believe it is merely a smokescreen for introducing laws and measures which will have unprecedented reach into citizens' private lives. This is the newletter sent out by Conservative MP Lawrence Toet. Not much of a choice, eh? (<--- Ironic Canadianism)

The wording of such things is always outstanding. But what's really terrible is that official referendums often almost always use slanted phrases as well.

There is an editorial against that bill by two Canadian professors in today's International NY Times.

I'll look at that editorial.
It is rather ridiculous as I can't imagine anyone approving of terrorism except terrorists (of the same gang), but all the nasty things terrorists do such as killing people and blowing up buildings and public transport facilities are already illegal. I guess they'll make it illegal to make tacky suicide-bomber videos with horrible music and stock photos, but the culprits are always dead by the time those are revealed.
The very real danger is that Harper could use this to target some of his "enemies" such as environmental protestors, even if they are not committing violent acts.

Yes, that's the real danger, lagatta. Anyone who is holding a peaceful protest under any circumstances can be arrested and charged as terrorists under this new bill.
Scary days.
