I'm sure you have all noticed how huge international companies keep trying to dream up the most outlandish event to draw attention to themselves. Sephora came up with The Color Run a few years ago, and the first one was held in Phoenix, Arizona in 2012 and it went on to 53 other American cities. Of course now it is spreading like a cancer around the world, so I went to see the Paris version this morning. (Nancy and Marseille are scheduled for later this year in France, but there are other events all over Europe.) Basically the premise is that participants run 5 kilometres and are bombed with coloured powder at each kilometre. This year's edition started on the expressway under the Pont Neuf.

Super pics and video, Kerouac.
Oddly enough, that looks like a lot of fun.

Well, 25,000 registered participants seemed to think so. But maybe they were only there for the goodie bags.

It does look as if most enjoyed it but I could not help but wonder why some had chosen to take part but then tried to avoid the application of colour. Yes we have a local one too called the " paint run" in aid of the hospice in my village. its generally very well supported Great photos and video K2 - thank you.

I've thought about doing this for awhile. There's one in Brooklyn next month but I physically won't be up for it. Maybe next year.
Great coverage!

Fun, K, thanks. Glad you were wearing your hat.
One of my coworkers and her husband are celebrating a wedding anniversary this morning by doing a Mud Run. Same general principle, I think, except the messiness comes from the ground up and might be more water-soluble.

There was a mud run in the Bois de Vincennes the next day, but it wasn't sponsored by Sephora.
