I love the texture and exposure in your picture, Rikita. Also, I'm crazy about lizards. Darling froggy, Casimira. You really captured his fascinating details. Here's a frog I took a couple of years ago. He's only about as big as an overcoat button. Those are (very dusty) rose geranium leaves, if that helps give an idea of his size.

This little gopher tortoise was too scared to be very "crawly" at the moment....

So, day before yesterday I'm sitting quietly at the computer when there is a crash from the living room. ~?~ I go in there and see that one of the ornamental pieces of tin propped on the rustic brick archway to the kitchen has fallen to the floor. That was a little odd, plus it's not big enough to make the noise I heard. Then I saw my coiled balsa wood snake on the floor, too. Looking up, I saw these beady little eyes looking at me ~

What a beauty ! I will admire him from afar.....I could never try and hold a lizard. I can't pick up a frog either.

Reptiles are actually very dry and silky feeling. And warm if they've been in the sun. Frogs, on the other hand, are slippery and squirt between your fingers. Toads usually pee on you, literally "squirting between your fingers".

Tod!!! What pictures those are! I'm knocked out, and more than a little jealous.
I have to ask: did you have the camera set up on a table or tripod? Just super!

Bixa - The camera was hand-held using 100mm Macro lens(not stabilized) on a Canon 50D. I'm glad you found them worthy of a very kind comment!Thank You ;D

That was not "a kind comment". That was the absolute truth! Astounding images. (And I'm envious, too.)

Look who's been hanging out in the back covered patio. I'm sure it's the same creature from before, although with a change of color to go with the changed environment. I hope it's getting food and water back there.

I captured him/her/it this morning. Poor thing, it had gone into the bathroom and I scared it when I walked in. It scurried under the mat in front of the sink, which could have been tragic if I hadn't seen it.
It was terrified, looking up at me as it tried to get some traction on the tile floor to run away. I scooped it up in the face towel and took it outside and released it. You could see it thinking "what tha .... ??" before it got its bearings and ran between a brick & a garden bed, probably to rest and pant until its heartbeat returned to normal.

Beautiful critters! Thanks for starting the thread, htmb! Other than our Amazonian members, you probably have the most to contribute.

HTMB, that one you posted of the lizard and his mating, territorial posture is exquisitely captured.,
I see them do it here all the tome but have never been able to capture it on film.
Love your frog Lizzy!
