A walk around Caceres

Driver-less cars are all well and good until they have to decide who to kill. The driver or the pedestrian who suddenly walked out in front of the car. I think it was K2 who mentioned this.

They also update an old joke.
Three men in a driver-less car break down. The mechanic says to fix it we'll have to replace the gearbox. The electrician says they'll have to re-wire the ignition system. The IT engineer says we need to switch it off, get out, lock the doors, walk away for five minutes, then come back and start it up. Then it'll be fine.

This gorgeously photographed report was made this summer when I was traveling, so I just got my first look at it. It's really something to see all that old stone in such great condition. Any idea if there was some major sprucing up after getting the UNESCO designation, or was it simple luck that the town never had a war pass over it? You did say that the Christians took it back from the Moors in 1229, but I guess there's been time to make repairs from any damage incurred then.

I am a sucker for architectural shots, and this thread really delivers. I also love that view down a narrow alley through a shadowed arch to the countryside and adore the last two photos. Thanks for this!
