The jacket has now been machine washed and gently tumble dried and it is perfect. As for Century 21, I was able to determine that my last visit there dates from January 2009. It was just before Anyport began, and I also happened to be there for Obama's inauguration. Yaaay on the jacket! Oh, I remember that thread on TTR -- it was WONDERFUL!

......no idea the trauma I experienced when you lost me in Galeries Lafayette. I can find my way to drive round the world without much of a problem, but I easily get lost in department stores, shopping centres and multi-storey car parks. The number of times I have to ask my daughters where I parked the car.........

I admire anyone who has the patience to wade through clothing and find reasonable bargains that will look nice and hold up for the long haul. I'm just not one of them. There's something about a large store full of merchandise - any kind of store - that sends me into a numb kind of overwhelmed semi-panic. And it's even worse if the store is packed with people.

Yes, it is a challenge. I hate shopping for clothing, unless, of course, I'm after some of the beautiful handcrafted stuff bixa shows us. I had a quilted jacket or short coat similar to K2's which I loved very much, it was the prettiest forest green. Alas it became far too shabby for even me. It is hard to find things that aren't made out of plastic.
There are some in North America from LLBean or Lands End, but the unequal exchange between the Canadian and US dollars makes them ridiculously pricy for us.
