If I were wearing the blue or lime green dress, I'd be dancing too. Those swirling, undulating skirts have a life of their own. Fabulous photos as usual catching the gaiety of the dance. Is it for an Easter celebration?

Ha, Questa -- we really have to get you into a long flouncy skirt! You always react with pleasure to pictures of them. I really have no idea what the occasion was. I think it was just a dance recital in the street, not uncommon here. At the time, I was hotfooting it home from having been out & about & had to pee so bad I could hardly see. Then I came across this great photo-op event, so what could I do? You can see more girls getting ready for their moment on stage street in the last picture above, and there are some in this group of spectators as well ~

I agree, who would not feel like dancing in those skirts! Brilliant colors as well.

Gorgeous photos. Those boys dancing are wearing my cowboy outfit I wore trick or treating I swear. Except for the white belt and boots of course. And white cowboy boots? John Travolta's character in Urban Cowboy would have thumbs upped that look I think.

I can't help myself ...the last part of a beautiful poem called Tarantella by Hillaire Belloc.
It sprang into my mind as soon as I saw the girl in blue dancing. You need to say the poem out loud with the rhythm and stresses on the beat
And the hip! hop! hap! Of the clap Of the hands to the swirl and the twirl Of the girl gone chancing, Glancing, Dancing, Backing and advancing, Snapping of the clapper to the spin Out and in-- And the ting, tong, tang of the guitar! Do you remember an Inn, Miranda? Do you remember an Inn?

So true, Mich -- just makes you want to get out and sashay, doesn't it? Yearning for the eighties, Fumobici? I know the thrill the of the cowperson garments. I had cowgirl outfits when I was little and would wear them all the time until the plastic fringe fell off, then I would demand a replacement. To extract even more fun from the white boots, scroll up to the gif, then sort of cut it in half so you're only looking at the dancing feet. They seem to be moving to the beat of Questa's poem. What wonderful, wild words to evoke a dance and days gone by, Questa!

Bixa, I think you did an excellent job of capturing the motion. I can hear the swish of the skirts as I look at these photos.

Thanks, Htmb! I was frustrated by the shade/backlit situation, but your comment cheered me up.
