53 standing ovations, mostly by Republicans. And for what? There was absolutely no specific information given - Trump just passed the football back to Congress, and basically implied that absolutely nothing is his problem.
Gee - Health care is complicated!!! Gee - Obama certainly thought so.

Thank gawd you have Mr Trump to put some life into the place. I'll duck very low and run like hell

No need to run, Mossie. This is the place for divergent opinions.
I have actually read quite a few articles that also thank Mr. Trump for putting some life into the place. Political activism has been aroused in the United States to a level not seen for the first time in decades, on both sides.
As long as it does not become a civil war, I believe it is quite healthy.

Scary headline there, Kerouac, but that's not the case yet if you listen to your link. There are discussions and a report on progress at the end of June.

Yes, I'm well aware of the other meanings, such as "media whore" and "corporate whore". But I've received flack for using it in that sense (obviously, not for insulting streetwalkers, whose lives are hard enough).
By the way, what is "Vocabulary" and how much credence does their dictionary have? I've never heard of it and it never pops up on my lexical searches. Always looking for credible sources...

A President who gets all his news from conservative media, not interested in being briefed by his staff members for even 20 minutes, is a dangerous person. Ghosts of Nixon...

I know it is little concern to me, although whoever is President of the U.S. is of worldwide concern, but the current goings on put me in mind of a spoilt child throwing his toys out of the pram. One moment he makes perfect sense, the next, hold onto your hats, this could become rough. Hopefully the burden of office will moderate him.

mossie - there is absolutely no hope that the situation with Trump will get any better.
Trump, being the President of the United States, should have known that he could just pick up the phone and call the Justice Department to find out what Obama did or not do. But no...

Well, this might help to explain things a little bit... (from the New Yorker)
Those uncomfortable silences accompany chatter about Trump’s state of mind, which is abetted by talk from a leaky White House and even from a Trump doctor, Harold Bornstein, who may have crossed a doctor-patient confidentiality line when he told the Times that Trump has been taking the drug finasteride, to preserve his unique haircut. Writing in the Washington Post, Daniel Marchalik, a urologist at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center, discussed what he called “potentially life-changing and irreversible side effects that may be associated with these medications,” and which may include sexual, physical, and psychological changes, pretty much none of them good. It’s hard to dismiss all of this.

Meanwhile, former President Obama is sipping another pina colada and grinning his ass off...and the millions of people that signed up for The Affordable Care Act won't notice anything about "the Death Spiral" and costs going out of control.
Typical Trump - throws a tantrum, and moves on, taking no responsibility for all those opiate addicts. And also showing how he does not work well with others.

There is an obvious "elephant in the room"... "Obama" is code for the "N - word", and so is "Obamacare". That's why Trump and Ryan insist on calling the defunct bill "The AMERICAN Care Act." And that's because everyone knows that Obama was born in Kenya.

Meanwhile apparently following the latest polls (on 1500 people, mind you...) Trump's popularity sank to 37%. Still a long way to beat François Hollande but going there !
