Bixa, England! Wonderful! Will you also be visiting anywhere on the Celtic fringe, or just England (which is more than enough, even one single region).
Mexicans are most welcome here. Nobody will confuse the type of upper-middle-class professional families who will visit with drug dealers (we have our own drug dealers, as do people in the US). Or the hard-working poorer people who come to work on farms, though many now are from Central America, not Mexico.

LaGatta, the current plan is England with day trips.
Back in December Canada lifted its visa restrictions for Mexican visitors.

How could this thread get to 16 pages without me noticing it? I waste all my time lately whining about our "so-called president" on Facebook when I could have been whining here!;-)

Yes, people here are thrilled to get more Mexican visitors. I hope this will make it easier for cultural representatives of Mexican Indigenous peoples (writers, filmmakers, dancers, visual artists etc) to attend First Peoples' Festival here in Montréal this summer. I see that the US has been deporting Mexican citizens (including some who really grew up in the US and who thus have a better command of English than of Spanish, at least in terms of reading and writing). Some of these have PTSD, and like so many have often self medicated with drugs or alcohol, and now the horribly dangerous synthetic opiates...) www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/army-veteran-faces-deportation-to-mexico-after-serving-two-tours-in-afghanistan-a7614236.html That is one article among many; the initial article I read was a local one here, in French. Bixa or Don Cuevas, any articles in Mexican media about their return "home", from a Mexican standpoint?

Peña Nieto made a big show of welcoming them back, but with no real follow-up. And I realize this is hardnosed, but what does Mexico owe them, other than what it owes to all the rest of its citizens? I went to Google Mexico, but didn't find much recent news from Mexican media, although there were flurries of articles around the time of the inauguration. Here is one article in English and one in Spanish, neither from sources I consider 100% reliable: mexiconewsdaily.com/news/president-tv-crews-greet-deportees-from-us/ and www.vice.com/es_mx/article/los-problemas-que-enfrentan-los-migrantes-deportados-de-vuelta-en-mexico

You are right; Mexico owes them nothing for enlisting in the armed forces of another country. I was thinking more about how they re-integrated. I presume that elderly ones can access the US military pension owed.
I may search La Jornada.

Oh, I am too. I had to ask a friend how to see only one page (rather than two) of a book I'm translating. Turns out that in the current case I simply had to up the magnification. I was freaked out as I'd tried other things that left me with strange codes.

We'll be happy to accord them refugee status. Poor things are already hard-hit by wild weather (and ice) variations.
As for hunting polar bears and other large mammals (such as caribou) from helicopters, that has been going on for quite a while. Such "adventure tour packages" are popular with outfitters, who make large sums from the rich white guys who love killing things - often even things they don't eat or use the fur of - and don't want to take any risks or go trekking across the tundra or through the taïga.
Then the cadaver is processed by some Inuit or First nations fellows who think the rich white guy is nuts but need the money... In the case of the caribou, the meat is neatly butchered and packaged, and of course the antlers are a prize

It infuriates me that many people are now trying to pin his statements and attitudes on senility. He didn't turn into a raving ignorant venal racist misogynist asshole at age seventy. No, he's been working on that his whole life.

Joan Baez has certainly aged better than the Donald, and she is a bit older than he is.
As a very young man, still a teenager really, the Donald was his dad's enforcer in refusing to rent an apartment in NYC to an African-American registered nurse because of the colour of her skin. Pig.

When it appeared that Trump was going to be President I said to myself, don't panic yet, he has experienced advisors that will stop him from doing anything too rash. They will pull him into shape a bit. Today I read that he chose to not attend an important meeting where he was to be briefed on some vital situation. Not even a short 20 minute abridged version. This gets more like Dr Strangelove every day.

He just looked bored and lost when Obama held a briefing session on detailed security and other matters. Guess he thought briefing was supposed to be "brief". Obama had written up a three-hour session, like a university class. Actually the noun has a somewhat different origin than the adjective. en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/brief

Sad to say, I never for one minute thought that the evil pig could be mitigated in any way. For one thing, he was the Republican candidate -- the Republicans, the party which has given us Sarah Palin and a kkk grand wizard and which has now managed to install an entire family of trash in the White House. Even though the Republicans pretended to be all shocked and dismayed when it appeared certain that the steaming pile of orange crap was to be their candidate, look how they've all rallied round since, with Paul may he suffer worse than hell Ryan eager to be the one to climb the highest up the presidential rump. Obama had written up a three-hour session, like a university class. Think of it -- Trampbait couldn't be bothered with a few measly hours. I am sure all of us can remember starting new jobs where we often had the benefit of an entire week with the person vacating the position. The abiding thought was always, how will I remember and master all this stuff?

One good thing to come out of the current situation is the discovery (for me at least) of the rich and powerful vocabulary possessed by Bixaorellana. Always descriptive and precise to the point of visual, her adjectives leave no doubt of her analysis of the genetic background and parentage of the subject, nor the suitability to hold any office above that of cleaning the pigeon-poo off the statues of those who were real Presidents.
Go Bixa...you rock!
