One of the main things that I like about Sète is that I find it completely unpretentious.

That's true kerouac. We often drove to Sète for dinner when we vacationed in Cap d'Agde. Unpretentious, fewer tourists, better restaurants.

A cousin of mine lived there for several years, but couple broke up. Didn't get to visit there.

Fascinating, Tod! I had no idea of the age of the canal, nor of how steep the drops are. Is that indeed what we're seeing in the third picture?
