These are just up the street from me. I have absolutely no idea at all what they are supposed to mean and yes, we need umbrellas quite regularly over the winter. It's chucking it down now as I write this.

a veritable rainbow of graphic wall art

I love the one on the tall wall. This one is more interesting for what's going on around it, than in & of itself: The owl is not painted on the wall, but is an example of the local tin art: Weird little light thing up by the face: This gate is part of the house with the painted wall. Note that it's a business renting all kinds of things for banquets, parties, etc.: The stark black & white of the banner is effective, especially paired with this figure used as a grate over the speakeasy window: Guess they specialize in catering to a particular kind of event!

Neat! I like the tin owl. Looks like you know where to go for macabre party supplies.

Is there a difference between "Graphic Street Art" and "Decorated Walls?

"Decorated Walls" is in Image Bank, which is really more about presenting our best efforts photographically that about the actual subject matter covered.
"Graphic Street Art" is in Maritime Museum because it gives more scope for showing the street art on location, telling the story around it, using photos we haven't taken ourselves, etc.

In a window in the Haight. So not technically street art. But I wasn't sure where else to put it. I note by the discounted price that it is an old/outdated poster. Must be from the election 4 years ago because the guy with Obama looks like John McCain, not Joe Biden. Not sure what the intended message is.

That choo-choo is great, Kerouac. Your celebrated muted palette is used to wonderful effect there, Jazz! Waiting for a bus ~

I like paper graffiti. Even when it gets torn, it looks cool.

And I am always amazed that people put so much effort into art that is so ephemeral -- when they're unlucky, it doesn't even last a week!
