It is a cruel cruel world and I am not comforted by those who tell you "Only the good die young" What crap. That is no solace. I have not divulged this until now but my dearest darling most adored husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer. So what do you do when you have screamed, cried, and said NO NO NO a million times? You get on a healing diet, have all the tests and start a program of Cancer fighting pills. From a PSI of 55 he is now down to O.O1. The pills cost R1,000 a day. Called Xtandi I am very confident he will beat this terrible disease, Together with Dr.Li 's Book and the medication.

I am so tired of cooking just now.....been down at the beach house catering for the two builders doing alterations for my sons partner. Home again I am enjoying the quiet. No more banging and drilling from early morning till it grew dark. I was there to prepare an evening meal each day. This included a dessert just to sweeten their efforts each day. Now, although pretty pooped after two solid weeks I still had the family over yesterday for a crayfish BBQ - braai. The little beasts were headless and pretty clean when I cut them open. The hardest part was making a veg stirfy and opening two packs of yellow rice from McCains frozen foods. My husband and son took on the grilling of the seafood - it was a lovely meal with my grandsons too.

I went onto Google and did a walk to both gardens. The Ecobox looks the more efficient and cared for but that may not be the case as of todays date.....those Google surveys of the streets can be months old.

Sorry your family were so frot when it came to clearing up. If that was me I would swear never again! When I do cater for a luncheon or supper, my son's partner is the first to carry out the dirty plates and start washing up even though I protest. I love cooking and making my family their favourite dishes but I'm blowed if I am expected to do the entire clearing up afterwards.....NO No NO!

Whatagain - You must have the biggest laundry basket in the world! I keep soiled clothes two days max. And I'm lucky....my husband does the washing or should I say puts the laundry into the machine and then also hangs it up or tumble dries it. I put my clothes away when dry and he does his. Makes life so simple and un-stressed,

What a great idea! Our weather is turning very very hot and Sunday predicted 36C so I wont be making any stuff in the oven but my airfryer could certainly deal with puff pastry!

Potgietersrus, is a town in the Limpopo province of South Africa.
The town name was changed to Mokopane in 2003 in honour of a local Ma Nrebele leader, King Mghombane Gheghana, who ruled the area before being conquered by the Voortrekkers. The Zebediela Citrus Estate, 55 km to the southeast, is one of the largest citrus farms in the southern hemisphere.

Mark, there is nothing like being food independent. You've got a great set-up going and I'm sure you will have lots of pleasurable journeys with no worries when its time for a snack break. We have had two of those electrical mini travelling fridges but they didn't last long. Maybe we overloaded them.... Bjd - Oh NOoooo! Sorry about that power out. We are so used to them but luckily my Solar can carry on if there is sunshine most days to charge the batteries.

Good connections in rural areas are safer. Oh I wish. We have optic wires hanging out of the conduit piping, lying above ground instead of the instruction they have to be beneath ground. Even then when not possible without major construction they travel above, and over garden walls. The whole thing is a total cock-up!

Out here in the bush we are so backward to anything different to what the TV screen brought us in 1976. I know there are a lot of Native Indian tribes, just like us we have many African tribes, but in those days of '76 all American Red Indian tribes appeared alongside The Lone Ranger. Its a learning curve. Thanks for the information Bixa.

Tonight I roasted a small "Free Range" chicken with roast potatoes my way ( So good!) roast New Zealand Blue pumpkin chunks, fresh Swiss Chard from the garden and Yellow Rice. Just a magnificent meal! I cooked up a storm because I did not have to cook over the weekend! Saturday Lunch was seafood and Sunday was roast beef dinner. The roast beef still awaited its gravy brought in a sauce boat to the table. Cost: R95 with a dessert of ice-cream and chocolate sauce. Meal= 4.73euros or 4,73 sterling. [/ur

That was a good thing but please forgive me if I imagine the Choctaw Nation sending great billows of smoke signals into the air with messages asking for a Powwow so they could send help to the Irish. Just how did they accomplish such a mission...?

Those look marvellous! So green and without blemishes. I think I must give Okra a go! The ones we get in the grocers shop are quite long in the tooth and very dehydrated. Probably come from Africa North of us.

We draw ever nearer to finalising our British Passport applications. Just the digital photos (not more than 3 months old) need to be done, and a copy of my fathers birth certificate which was incorrectly filled in - need the new revised copy.

We are on the hunt again for something exciting and well acted. Virgin River is finito, Designated Survivor is finito, Even watched the last episode of Morse last night, and I must say the story and acting are just so far above a lot of what is on offer now. I can only take so much of Grace & Frankie before I'm searching for another "Whodunnit". I love murder mysteries the most.

I know and understand what you're saying Kerouac, but dealing as expertly as you did would never be achievable for your brother at that distance simply because "out of sight out of mind" syndrome. My sister did what she could but I looked after my mother every day including weekends while she was alive. It is strange but I feel I could have done so much more. But then to what cost? My family, especially my husband would have taken strain. I miss my mother so much. Especially now that I have been forced to go through ancient documents and photos to submit to HMPO in the UK. I'm nearly there.
