Coincidentally, day before yesterday I went to visit my former landlord, who grew up in Milwaukee. He just turned 75, and was telling us that when he was a kid the German influence there was still really strong. I'm kind of curious about Milwaukee -- I don't know anything at all about that part of the US.

Well, that thing is like a quiz: "Can You Name the States?" Some of them I only know because I happen to know where the show was set.
