Hi Don C ~~ where are you right now? Have you been happily eating your way through the northeastern portion of the United States?
It used to be possible to find some really great licorice sticks at health food stores. They were more "meaty" and less shiny & rubbery than the Swizzler's. Has anyone tried those?

Don,if you're going through JFK check out some really good licorice candy in a box at one of the "gourmet" little markets there.They're bite size and really licoricey.

I'm not a huge fan of it but I like it as a drink, pastis/ouzo/raki, and I like it's taste in cumin. What they use here is star anise, Bixa.

Mmmm ~ I love star anise! I like to break off a piece or two & put it atop the fresh coffee grounds before brewing.
