How absolutely lovely Lugg! This last photo looks like a beautiful painting. Those bluebells captured my heart one year when we spent a day or two in Lady Margarets Park at Chirk. We drove in and were guided to a campsite right next to the wooded area. It was smothered in bluebells. Never forget them.
Mick - what a delightful bowl of yellow! They look so spritely showing off their lovely yellow heads.

Thank you for these pictures, Mick and Lugg. Much as I hate winter, I do love "classic Spring", which we don't have in this part off the world.
Is there anything cheerier than a daffodil? Love yours, Mick.
Lugg, you really delivered the Spring experience! Gorgeous blooms and fabulous flower portraits.

I am inordinately pleased with this hibiscus. I grew it from a small cutting I took (really, broke off) from a lanky specimen I passed. That one was growing in a schoolyard set well below the level of the highway, with many trees and everything stretching for the light. The cutting struck root & I dared to put it in the ground the other day. It had two buds & one has opened. I believe this is Hibiscus rosa-sinensis ~

Thanks, Lugg. A drawback -- or charm, depending on how you look at it -- of that particular hibiscus is that its flowers dangle down like little bells. That will be lovely when it finally grows tall, but for the moment you can see the little bamboo stick I used to prop up the bloom for the photo.
That is a gorgeous, gorgeous photograph, Lugg! The backlighting, the detail, the subtle colors ~ wow. I don't know what it is, though. Do the tips ultimately open?

I guess both Bixa - you get to enjoy it as it grows in all its various stages, its lovely. don't know what it is, though. Do the tips ultimately open? Not really any more than this - at least the ones in my garden don't. But it lasts for ages and the foliage comes into its own later on in the year. It is Solomon's Seal / Polygonatum .

On my Solomon's Seal the blooms open up to little pendant bells. Hardly spectacular but charming. Easy plant to grow here in part shade, almost idiot-proof.

Ahhh ~ thanks to both of you! I thought it looked like Solomon's seal, but was confused by the closed blossoms. Also, for whatever reason I only associate that plant with the US and Canada.

All of your photos are making me anxious for my gardens to flower and to begin planting some annuals! We are a bit behind you all due to our weather but I have to say my perrenials are up sprouting up faster this year than I have ever seen. Beautiful photos everyone.

Do you know what the name is of the flower in the second last photograph? Sorry Mich , nearly missed your query - its an Aquilegia , not sure which exactly.
