Lovely aquilegias. They call them columbines in Canada.

Far from underwhelmed, Cheery! I love how much you have in flower. Also love that pink dicentra. I've only grown the white one, but the pink is a real sweetie.

So frilly and delicate Kerouac - I can only guess they are a variety of rose?

Yes. At the Parc de Bercy, there is a huge map and decoder of all of the roses in their rose garden, but it is really not of much use to me.

Mick, do those flowers die off and next spring come up again in the same place, or, do you store the bulbs then replant?
Fumo - that is a stunning colour!

They just die down like Daffodils and I leave them completely alone.

Gee whiz Lugg - that is some bloomin'rose! Absolutely fantastic. What are you feeding your roses by the by?? Here we have a formula from Ludwigs Roses called Vigarosa, that gives them good growth and blooms.

There was a similar lovely flower in California which was called an ice plant. But this can't be the same because the leaves are different.

this year its blooming lovely I think. Oh my gosh ~ that is out of this world glorious, Lugg! Did you prune it hard after last year? There are lots of different ice plants. Yours are outstanding, Mick -- such a cheerful display. Whenever I hear of ice plants I automatically think of Pacific Grove, California, where I lived in the late '60s. Looking it up, I see the ice plants there are still going strong: www.pacificgrove.org/article/outdoor-activities/pacific-grove-blooms-the-return-of-the-magic-carpet

Stunning pics all! I don't know where to begin. My garden at the "old" house is full of blooms and weeds. No energy to deal with it at this time. Too depressing. One fence is chock full of our native passiflora, aka, Maypop. Gulf Fritilaries everywhere (their larval food). Love in the ruins... We take turns going over there to water. Some days I just can't summon it up.

Sorry to hear your garden woes Casimira. If it is at all possible and the right time of the year, and if you are still in your same abode, please gather up some Dutchmans pipe seeds for me. The only reason I think the last lot failed was because I "lost"them for nearly 3 years? The garden experts say they need to be sown soon after the plant has produced them. Yours ever grateful!

Will do Tod if I find some pods. One of the areas where there were a lot was in a side bed closest to where some contractors were working and that got trampled.

Do you know what the name is of the flower in the second last photograph? Sorry Mich , nearly missed your query - its an Aquilegia , not sure which exactly. Common name is Columbine in US and Canada, anyway.

Pretty in pink Mick - lovely . Thanks Mick What are you feeding your roses by the by?? I mostly don't but occasionally put some well rotted horse manure around them which I know id not usually recommended but hey I have lots and its free . Did you prune it hard after last year? Nope , just a careful trim.
