Outstanding lineup of beautiful perfection, Cheery! That first dahlia has the most gorgeous and subtle colors imaginable.

Oh how my dear mum would have loved those. She always had sweetpeas growing during their season no matter where my parents lived.

So lovely, Mick!
I would think it would be late for sweetpeas, plus you said you recently had hot weather. Are the blooming now because the prolonged cold in Springtime?

My sick hibiscus has been blooming in spite of having almost no leaves. There are leaf sprouts everywhere but the leaves are very hesitant about developing. WTF?

Gorgeous Mick - I have not planted any this year but have an everlasting that is thriving but they don't smell as sweet and the variety of colour of course is missing.

Trumpet vines need a lot of sun. They grow like weeds here but only bloom where it's sunny.
Lovely photos Lugg and Cheery. I kept meaning to take some but my agapanthuses (agapanthi?) are all lying on the ground. The lack of rain lately hasn't improved the look of the rest of the garden.

Lovely blooms Lugg! I have never seen such an unusual combination of pink and green on a Hydrangea bush! Super! I have a trumpet vine that has been chopped/hacked back several times - right down to the roots almost. You can't get rid of it. Comes back more vigorous than ever. Mine is the Zimbabwe Creeper or Podranea ricasoliana. Is your creeper the Blood-red trumpet vine - Distictis buccinatoria ? My Zim Creeper

Killer photos, Lugg ~ love that 3D hydrangea, the dewdrops on the rose, & the lovely backlighting on the agapanthus. The Japanese anemone(?) is just glorious.
Tod, I recognize the leaves on your vine as being in the giant bignonia family. We have pink, purple, & orange vines of it here, with the orange possibly the most common. All of them are rampant as hell and, because we have lots of sun, bloom year-round. The pink flowers on yours are exceptionally pretty.

Thank you all. We bought a trumpet creeper that was blooming when we bought it, but hasn’t bloomed in the two years since. I wonder if it isn’t getting enough sun I think that, as Bjd said, that is likely the problem - at least I know mine barely flowers if we have a cool , wet Summer . I have seen it in much warmer countries and the blossoms are much more widespread. Would love to see photos of your apaganthus, Bjd, if you get chance. Tod your Zim vine is lovely, I don't know what my vine is , I inherited it when I moved here but I think your suggestion may be correct. Yes Bixa it is indeed a Japanese anemone

You sent me out to take pics of the agapanthus, Lugg, but I'm afraid they are at the end of their blooming time. So not only collapsed, but wilting.

Glad to hear those seeds worked, Cheery. I sowed at least two packets of cosmos, one of stocks. One single small cosmos flower came up, a couple of stock leaves but no flowers. I guess I have to do it properly next year and not just throw the seeds in the ground.
Kimby, last year we tried attaching the stems with string to the fence, but they are still so top-heavy that it doesn't really work well. I do sometimes see vertical agapanthus in people's gardens but don't know how they do it. I have a couple that stayed up but their heads were mostly seed heads now, so didn't take a photo.

I bought some of those twirly metal structures to hold up my tomato plants a few years ago. They weren't as effective as wooden stakes so I gave most of them away. It doesn't matter -- half the garden would be filled with stakes if I had to hold up each flower!
