witch-hazel family, Hamamelidaceae
It's lovely. Spring bloom only, or intermittent?

It's a loropetalum, part of the witchazel family. . Thanks, bjd. Now I need to re-research my plant families.

All I’ve got is one clump of crocus blooming where there was snow a few days ago…otherwise just green shoots of a few daffodils and hyacinth. What a difference a day makes!

Glad to see you're getting success from your bulbs, Kimby, after all the troubles with deer and other gourmet critters. I've never seen crocus that beautifully colored before!

Thanks all. Yes, it's my garden. I posted those pics then left for Bayonne yesterday. It's only about 30 km south but further ahead in blooms. But they almost never get frost. I also realize I have too many purple flowers - at least at this time of year. A few more photos:

Just beautiful, Bjd, and there is so much more coming on. When those yellow roses open against the blue fence, it will be spectacular.
So lovely, Mick! Is that an espaliered apple? Are the yellow fireworks forsythia? And what are the yellow blooms on the lower left? Really like those.

I always envy brick walls in gardens -- such a nice background for plants.
Bixa, the yellow roses have bloomed and indeed look nice.

One out of three bixa. Yes, an apple with a terrific display of bloom this year, far better than last year. Let’s hope it translates to a decent apple crop. A broom not a Forsythia. The little yellow flowers are the new leaves on Poncirus trifoliatus “Flying Dragon”.
The bed is a bit bare as I’ve just cleared out last year’s casualties.

Ahhh --- I considered broom because of the color, but somehow didn't think it bloomed this early for you, nor that it got that tall. The little yellow flowers are the new leaves on Poncirus trifoliatus “Flying Dragon”.

Lovely pics of your flowers in full bloom Bjd!
Mick, what is that spray of yellow? The pink flowers climbing the wall are on an apple vine?

Nice pics Whatagain! I recognised most but I wonder how many knew that the yellow Strelitzia flower was called Mandela's Gold?
