No , it’s a cultivar but I can’t recall which one. Lovely colour though.

My Clematis Montana has started flowering in parts

I love that plant, mine is slow showing its flowers this year as we had a wet and cold Spring. Mine has a very subtle vanilla-ish fragrance, something clematis almost never have.

Gorgeous pic Patrick!!
(And, to back track a bit, I simply love your espaliered apple trees in bloom Mick)
One of my goals for years now is to espalier a variety of fruit trees along the confines of my lemon grove which is a fairly large area. I can envision different figs, Kafir limes, key limes and others...
One of these days...
I have enough going on right now to keep up with.

Cheerful geraniums ~ I love them! And they're tough. They over-winter outside with no problems (not that we've had particularly tough winters in London for quite a while).

So pretty ~ I love Dianthus. What is the bright yellow plant in the foreground Not a lot blooming for me right now, what with all the heat. This rosa de castilla has bloomed its brains out over and over again & is a terrifying strong grower. I really need to get out there and deal with it, although the combination of getting up on the ladder and the vicious thorns, plus laziness, has deterred me. It's actually a deeper and prettier color than in the picture and beautifully scented ~ I wish I had space to put this big Anthurium in the ground to see what it would do. It only puts out one flower at a time in the pot ~

Tod, what about your Agapanthus? Oh they have all finished their December blooms and before lockdown my gardener spent some time pulling out the old dried up stalks. They desperately need thinning out but my garden/lawns are so neglected now I doubt whether he will get around to it for a few months ….that is when gardeners are allowed back!

That I will, the one I planted is now fighting it's way up through the lavenders ..there are achillias, lupins, sanguisorba, veronicas, hardy geraniums, scabious, and other plants in that bed. The self seeded ones are in the blueberry bed and one is growing up through a little flowering quince...

They certainly are Lugg! Do you still remember the names of each one? The bright pink one looks like Garden Queen, while the last photo looks very similar to my Five Roses (named after the famous brand of tea). I have listed the names of my last lot of roses on an app on my phone because in a year time I will never remember them!

Lovely roses and clematises. My clematis is teeny in comparison. Perhaps they like cooler climates and rain?

Those clematis are spectacular!!!!! The only one that thrives here is the white autumn species.
Too darn hot and humid.
Lugg, beautiful roses!!! I especially love that bright yellow one and the others are stunners as well.
Thanks for sharing them with us.
My Madam Isaac Perriere and my New Dawn climber are the two that are blooming beautifully here.

Lovely roses and clematises. My clematis is teeny in comparison. Perhaps they like cooler climates and rain? I seem to remember the gardening programmes on TV and radio advising people to make sure their roots are kept cool and shaded.
