I wish I had done that yesterday, even though nobody walked in during the night, even though nothing was stopping them.

Have a compulsion while in my friends apartment to walk around with a broom after arriving and sweep up all the sand on the floor from the beach, well, have done so at least twice, but, the compulsion to continue to do so remains. It's making me batty!!!

When visiting my parents' cabin in Wisconsin, I feel compelled to get a broom and knock down some of the cobwebs that adorn the ceiling beams and rafters. The spiders are winning the war there.

Today I really had a compulsion to say something to my neighbor. But instead I grrr... I'm glad she's off to Vermont on Sunday, for another year.

I started visiting my parents in Florida and would go into a cleaning frenzy for which I had about 60 minutes. My father would take my mother to the beauty shop and I would have one hour to try to scrub the kitchen and the bathrooms completely and get as much dusting done as possible. They would return and wonder why I was sweating like a pig as I sat calmly in front of the TV.

I am forced to be very conscious and frugal with water, habits that have become reflexive. When I was visiting my mother, I was horrified at her prodigality with water in the kitchen. At one point, I couldn't stand it and reached over to turn the tap off or at least down. She positively hissed at me.

I used to be one of You People, living in a place where the main problem with water is getting rid of it.

When I was little, I remember that the (unlimited) water bill was $2 a month.
