Thanks, Lola. I heard a snatch of it at the end of a The Big C episode, so looked it up. I've played it about forty times since then.

Singers from Québec often release their songs in two versions.

I quite like this chap, Will Young...he won Pop Idol in the UK a few years ago and is imo very talented...I love this one...he has an unusual voice but the chorus on this is very catchy...if a little camp... ;D

I like The Postal Service even though I could easily confuse them with Owl City.

Here are the lyrics for those having trouble following along:
Cherie!
Cherie!
Cherie!

Despacito is a pleasant song, but to me it sounds like 1000 other Latino pop songs, so I really do not understand how it became the most viewed music video in the history of YouTube, passing Gangnam Style. Okay, all of the girls in the video as sexy as fuck, and the singer is also quite attractive I suppose, but is that all it takes?

Yes, it is a catchy tune and there are plenty of sexy girls - and boys, but it is very formulaic.
I suppose one could say the same about Wycliff Jean's Lady Haiti, but I suppose I'm prejudiced, as it is very popular here:

I sometimes sing Perché ti amo to my cat. Fortunately she doesn't really understand human languages; just the tone of our voice and certain key words such as NO!

Jeanne Added won the award for best female French singer at the Victoires de la Musique yesterday. Too bad she doesn't sing in French.
