Never knew I had a choice. The one I've got is getting rather wrinkled and worn, so a new one would make a nice change

Yes, transportation looks nice.
Rikita, nothing changes for anybody who has chosen a specific skin. The appearance only changes for unregistered visitors and people who are not logged in.

I'm using motor court. I've tried other skins, but have never found anything else that suited me all that much.

Frankly, I have never found the perfect skin either, but I have a soft spot for streamline moderne, which was our very first skin here.

I love the colors in Streamline Moderne, but I don't know that it's the perfect introduction to Any Port in a Storm.
I believe the present default skin is Motor Court -- is that right? It has the advantage of being interesting without being hard on the eyes, plus has that spark of red which is also the color of the linked text.
Do any members remember what the default skin was when they first encountered AnyPort?

And you still like it! It was Streamline Moderne when I started. I've gone through several in the last couple of days, trying out the ones recently mentioned, plus some forgotten ones. Right now I'm back with Retro Bambi, a perennial favorite of mine. It makes me want to make lanyards and learn woodcraft!

My brain seems to work best with clear, clean visuals and as little extraneous info as possible. Motor Court is especially good for meeting those needs, particularly when I'm using my iPad. It gets a little more colorful when used on a regular computer in FF or IE.

I use the one that is very plain and soft green - Big Buttons? I love the one with the scene of the Liverpool port, from my Historical background, but this one is easier on my eyes, from whatever computer.

Retro Bambi also has a good bit of soft green. In one way it reminds me of My Weekly Reader, but it is gentler on the eyes.
For a nice soft look that also has a background picture, check out Telescope.

I think I started out with Streamline Moderne, then switched to a greenish one showing water and trees, but it doesn't seem to be on the link in reply 40

Sounds as though you were using the "any port in a storm" skin, Bjd, which was the default one for a while.

Hadn't really considered skins but now that you have mentioned it! I've just changed from Streamline Moderne dark to boilerplate. Much better to read the black text. No doubt I will change incessantly now for the next six months...

A certain period of instability is always involved when trying to decide.

Yes, repeatedly going to the precipice on these crucial matters can be very wearing.
