thehurtlocker-movie.com/Kathyrn Bigelow has been one of my favourite working directors ever since I saw Near Dark and Strange Days. Her new picture has been critically hailed in all corners of the country (and lambasted as potential propaganda by a Brit), and looks to be damn good in my not so humble opinion. Keep an eye out for it in your neck of the woods!

It sounds harrowingly suspenseful! I never heard of Kathryn Bigelow before. Her list of credits is intriguingly varied. I will definitely be looking out for her in the future.

Kathryn Bigelow has always seemed to me to be the female director whose films seem the most like they were not made by a woman. Meanwhile, the reverse is not at all true -- there are a lot of male directors whose films could easily be mistaken for the sensibility of a woman. Ang Lee is the first name that pops into my mind.

I can definitely agree with that sentiment, K2. The first two names that come to my mind would be the oft-admired Hayao Miyazaki and Pedro Almodovar.

For me, Leni Riefenstahl's works have a strong male sensibility.
