Yesterday, I attended Exeter's Respect in the park festival.
It was held in one of the numerous parks / play areas in town.
Excellent afternoon with lots of place for people to be and feel comfortable. There were workshops and concerts as well as activities and food. too bad it was soggy!
I had the privilege of listening to Dr Pooja Angra, who performs for All India Radio and BBC Asia. It made me want to go back to India.
In the evening, I also attended part of the "after-party" at a venue in town, where I had the pleasure of listening to "Roots Union", a kind of modern folk/rock band (you have the right to disagree with this classification)

Dr. Pooja looks a great deal like Norah Jones, doesn't she?
What a wonderful day. The more you tell us about Essex, the better it sounds!
And speaking of "sounds" ~ thank you for the good music. Really like Roots Union, and was pleased to be introduced to the Indian singing, completely unknown to me.

Bixa - she lives in Exeter - not Essex!

Duh! Not like I don't know that, & that it's not in the subject heading to boot!

t's allright, bixabella! Essex is only a mere 4 hours's journey from here. so relatively near, even though it is the other side of the southern part of England!
