Bixa, you could probably make them very happy if you bulked up and increased your lap area.

Civilised territorial struggle. It's civilized because Darla only wants to be on my lap so she can use it like her throne. She looks smaller in the picture because she has her royal self perched out on a knee. Harley actually wants to snuggle, so he's closer. (they're actually @the same size) Yikes, Htmb ~ are you putting a curse on me?! My lap is overly "comfortable" as it is.

Oh, okay. Silly me, I thought it's because you wanted to say to yourself the next time you saw me, "Sheesh -- she's really let herself go!"

Dogs at least leave you the use of your arms. A cat can totally immobilize you.

You'd think that, but she absolutely LOVES the snow, especially when she's wearing her booties. She did spend several years in the DC area, so snow isn't all that new to Lilly, but this is a more intense situation than what she had there with the tricky-to-navigate sidewalks and high piles left by the plows. She's also very lucky to live near the East River and Central Park, so there are lots of good places to play and have the ultimate doggy experience.

I'm told her owner was wearing her purple black coat and purple boots, too.

We have a new baby in the family. My daughter and granddaughters adopted this 2 month old lab puppy. It was one in an abandoned litter of seven.

The snuggy precious! Is that a girl or a boy?

She was here for over two hours and she took turns snuggling in various laps until we'd switch her to the next. She's was a little timid and a bit undernourished, but a very sweet animal.

Oh crap, I haven't looked at this for a while. Now I am utterly incapable of saying who has the cutest dog! I've always loved Darla (and that is a stunning portrait) but Lilly is astonishing, and as for the puppy, great chorus of ahhhhhhs.
Who the hell would abandon a litter of seven labs? Even if they hate critters, there would be $$$ to be made.

He's a real sweetie and didn't even get mad when I wouldn't let him chase the big, fat rabbit down into the sinkhole.

Was she always so small, or is that because she is terribly thin?
Livia doesn't weigh much more, at her ideal weight...

Lagatta, she was always teensy weensy, say 6-7 lbs. tops. Her spine/back bone is very prominent at this time but, she is eating heartily. I am finding myself having to be cautious to not overfeed her.

Who is "Livia" Lagatta? Did you acquire another kitty?

|
|
Post by lagatta on Oct 11, 2016 23:23:19 GMT
Yes, Livia is my wee black girl. She isn't a kitten; she is approximately 2 yrs old, according to the vet. But she weighs about 5lb. I didn't want another cat, but friendly neighbours almost obliged me to take her "at least for a while" Hmmmpf!

I know you said you would not get another cat but I am glad you have some feline companionship. I pined for Sadie so... I also told myself that I would not get another cat for a long time but then she miraculously reappeared.
